graphics alone won't give this game "universal acclaim." Crysis had the best graphics but had a lot reviewers criticized it's bland story. From what I've seen this looks like a AAA title, but the gameplay seems like a wanna be COD4. It just isn't too revolutionary. LBP and MGS4 got those scores because they were both ground-breaking. Nice graphics was just icing on the cake.
Any developer that says developing for the ps3 is easy is obviously in bed with sony. So this is expected.
actually sales wise this game is a flop.the first one sold over 3 million units. and the second one is struggling to break 100k.
If you want the best you have to pay for it. It's that simple. You have to pay for the best online on the consoles (xbox live) and the PC (world of warcraft).
why don't you try western rpgs then. I for one never could get into JRPGS. they just don't connect with me because of all that unrealistic "drama." but if other people like it that's fine with me. but my favorite rpg is KOTOR. Partly because it had a revolutionary dialogue system and it's star wars. But mostly because it has the biggest story twist of all time.
they gave a 9.5 to the original gears. so I don't know where you're getting your facts from. the only reason why gears gets more attention is because it's more revolutionary. Everyone is starting to use a gears-like cover system in TPSs. While resistance is just another shooter. That's why it's at 89% on metcritic.
