the 360 does fine without price cuts. And unlike sony which couldn't have an above average holiday season to save it's life, microsoft takes advantage of every holiday season. 09 isn't going to be bad for the 360. On the contrary, in a downed economy $199 sounds like a sweet deal.
as much as I like that sony is losing this generation. We still need competition for quality. Nintendo isn't competition for microsoft.Their in different leagues. Whenever any one company is is a "monopoly" their going to rip of their customers in as many ways as possible.An example, the ps2 was dominant last gen and the only thing good about it was it's library. And to this day they don't include a puny 8mb memory card, while the xbox had a 8GB hard drive from day one.
none of those games besides mgs4 are system sellers like gears or halo. It's funny this holiday season that people would rather buy CODWAW ps3 than any of those new "IPs." BTW half the generation is over and all 3 consoles are already outdated.

MGS5 is going to come out 2010 or 2011. besides it's not going to be as innovative as mgs4. I'm curious about what games bungie is working on considering ODST is a "side project" with a small team. And btw alan wake is going to be one of the biggest game of 2008. And where the hell is splinter cell conviction?
I'm guessing after E3. They have to build hype if they want to sell good. And if one company knows how to build hype about a game it's microsoft.
If people really want to experience GTAIV. You should get the 360 version installed on the hard drive. Loading times are the best out there. And you actually have something to look forward to in the future via exclusive DC.

You've got to be on crack to think that gears is going to the ps3. When developers sign a contract with a publisher they are signing the rights to their projects over to them. Epic can't make a gears game without microsoft's approval. Same goes for resistance. Insomniac doesn't own the franchise, sony does. That's why halo 3 isn't on the pc.
no game system is a deal. It's a way for the company to make money... that's it. It just matters how much you get ripped off. Either way how much money you "save" will get eaten up with a few $60 games (or $50 if you bought a wii).
Sony isn't breaking even. They are losing money on each console. The only way they are staying afloat is by milking the ps2 for all it's worth. Pretty sad relying on a last gen console.

microsoft does something good and all people can do is complain...typical sony fanboys. Well they could be doing a lot worse like delaying everything 2+ years and people are still disappointed. Well at least the 360 is selling better than ever before. And the ps3 is selling worse than in the previous 2 holiday seasons.
