Well do the math yourself both Wii and Xbox360 have a 6 mil lead over the PS3, not to say those 2 systems continue to outsell the PS3. How is the PS3 going to catch up and get that huge part of the console sales? Small install base compared to competition and high development cost.... Not to say if BLURAY fails with the recent developments umm where does that leave Sony???
Notice they said playstation brand. They still make a good amount of money from the PS2, but the question is how long can that keep them floating?
The funny thing is MS has been dropping it's killer apps. I was movied by Advance Warfighter, Oblivion, Dead Rising , Gears of War, Forza Motorsport 2, Saints Row, Crackdown, Fight Night Round 3, and now Bioshock (Which I wasn't going to get but I'm glad I got it killer game, killer graphics.) this is just to name a few I own have have had fun playing.

It might have been different if Sony wasn't trying to sale BLURAY and if they could have transitioned away from the PS2. While it's great the PS2 has this killer library of games and is cheap with a huge install base, it takes away from the PS3's sales in addition to the whole BLURAY movie marketing. The other major problem is they didn't show developers much love. Let's not forget the pure arrogance of the executive administration for the company...

No they were not bragging about ripping anyone off. They are clearly stating that sales for the system have remained strong because people think they are getting a value out of the system, as a result of positive demand they were able to keep the starting sale price. You look at the PS3 and they aren't doing so well with sales even after dropping the price.

While this article would hints the developer is to blame for not being able to harness the power of the PS3 earlier, unless the hindrance is firmware updates. I disagree, because as a selling point for your console you are not only marketing to gamers but developers. I understand what you mean. This could change but right now there are just so many great games for the 360. I look at the PS3 section in the game stores and can't find much of anything that I really want to play so the PS3 collects dust and my 360 plays. Plus the achievement points add to the fun. It truthfully depends on the person. I read the reviews on games, and they have helped me avoid some tragic games. Last Gen I didn’t and let me tell you I had some horrible games that I paid full price for and they just collected dust. My rule of thumb is if it gets a bad review and you still really want it rent it, if you like it after that then buy it; at least you save yourself 60 bucks.

No one has forgot how slow the PS2 sold and how it did well. The Dynamics between the PS2 and PS3 are completely different. PS2 didn’t have much of competition, Dreamcast was out smarted by Sony buying exclusives and when it came down to money Sega just couldn’t hold on. Xbox came out after the PS2 had a significant install base already built up.

It's called Microsoft extended the warranty and you buy an extended warranty at Circuit City. If it breaks within 2 years you get the cash price you originally paid for the machine. It's not all about the Processor, there are other factors. A person with the right harddrives, memory and video card will be able to play this if they own a P4. Not to say depending on the setup a person running a P4 my run the game better than a person with core 2 duo.
With Take Take-Two’s current money situation it could cause the company to go bankrupt, putting the GTA franchise up for sale. That may be a stretch, but the only thing Take-Two has going for its self is GTA franchise.
