It matter not only to fanboys but gamers also but for different reasons. I’m a gamer and I follow the games. So normally you would come to my house to find multiple consoles. Incentives to pick up the competing console are mitigated by the library of games; AAA titles, and Exclusives. This time around seems like I will be sticking with the PC/360 but that can change depending on what I see come from the PS3 library.
It’s funny you should down Microsoft for ripping anyone off.
Sony: Hard drive in console (Original Xbox was the first), PSN (XBL the First), Motion Control (Nintendo).
The point isn’t to diss Sony because everyone does it. It’s what causes competition and in the end consumers only benefit as company try to innovate on a trend to get your money. If we didn’t have companies constantly trying to improve on another’s idea, we might just still be playing the old Nin...
Well no doubt this will get the fanboys saying how Microsoft sucks, but everyone copies everyone. Throughout Microsoft’s history they have taken other ideas or bought out other companies to obtain an idea. They aren’t the only company that does it, Apple, Sony and many other companies do it. The thing that sets MS apart is they normally are really good at taking and vision or idea and seeing that it reaches its full potential and some.
The thing is if Nintendo truly had invent...
"If you see someone with 100 bronze trophies, but no silver or gold, you'll know that person is a low-level player, and isn't interested in the challenge of seeking out the tougher awards. However, if you run across a high-level user with a ton of platinum trophies, you will realize you're in the presence of a power gamer, someone you definitely want on your side in Resistance 2. " - Maybe if it was like the Halo 3 system.
I’m very familiar with Second Life, and know Sony is trying to incorporate it into gaming. The way they are going about it makes it just like a version of the SIMS. Next the XBL network isn’t laggy, I’ve seen a few people with a bad internet connection. However I played on it since last gen and have not had a single lag issue.
First just because Sony released home to a select few to help improve the services, so they don’t release it and it bombs, does not mean it’s out. This o...
@FartGhost:
"Now that Sony has updated Skill Points with the trophy system everyone can see how it is done properly. Skill Points/Trophies earn the player rewards to unlock things or in the case of Home the higher your Trophy level the better apartments or other things inside of Home are earned. "
Well I will start by saying Home is still not out. All there is speculation as to what home will do and how great it can be. However I will let you dream about how gr...
Sure does.
Being a fanboy isn't cool so don't even try to put a spin on it. There is a total difference from having a preference in which console you choose to play your games on and being a mindless fanboy.
While it was a bit crude in the method used, he is right. Total fanboy... The issue I take with most fanboys is they normally pass around false information as fact. Even worse they bring down the quality of any site or establishment they are telling there lies in.
I honestly wish it was back to the days of true gamers and you put your controller skills to the test. The only trash talking back then wasn't over a console but rather which game was the best to test a gamers skill i...
What works for me is my PC and 360. PC gives me all the RTS and MMO's I want along with a few good RPG's and FPS. The 360 fills in the rest. That's not saying the PS3 doesn't have good games. Just when I invested in a nextgen console Sony did have much to of what I wanted and Microsoft had it. That doesn't make a fanboy, it makes me a gamer looking for games.
Yes, I got a RROD. It sucked because I was in the middle of a few games. However I just picked up the mouse and keyboard...
The gamers that think the PS2 will cause an issue aren’t ignorant. They just are aware you cannot have two rulers without losing servants to the other. The PS2 and PS3 can exist with each other; you just give something for the other. PS2 had the larger install base and unfortunately that hurts the PS3. PS3 needs the larger install base to win favor over the 360 for the sake of getting exclusives and getting developers to make more games.
Sorry to say while Sony is able to hedge...
Up close they are the same. However if you look at the PS3, from a distance everything is a bit more blurred. I would say 360 barely better.
Hopefully the trophies will all look diffrent. If they look the same or there are only a few looks that would kill the joy in getting them.
I don't think this is going to break 360 sales. It may improve attach rate of the PS3. However you have so many great PS3 games that don't have trophies.
I have the game and in single play mode it sucks. This is one of those games you need to call a friend over or play online. Overall I would give the game an even 7.0 game score.
This is a good example how fanboys blindly follow and believe anything. If you read article, it said it was a development tool. When described it sounded like a boast to PSN to compete with XBL. No doubt many fanboys love to hear that.
My point this fanboy stuff is really silly.
Everyone hypes up these certain titles like MGS4 but the fact is, while this is a killer title it isn't a title for everyone. The stealth action genre isn't as popular as others genres, so it logical that it will not sale as well as other games in much larger genres. With that being said there is no point in putting the MG4's sales numbers, and its silly for all these fanboy's to keep defending them.
Not everyone loves stealth action titles, if that was the case you would see ...
I'm buying this game. Starcraft II is up against many other great RTS. C&C, WarHammers 40K, AOE, Civ, Supreme Commander and many others. At this point they have to be up to the standard of the others, if they want to be taken seriously by RTS gamers. I see this game as being another killer RTS to sink my Teeth in.
Thugbot version 187.0.0.0 ready for combat.
Toshiba is doing the right think if they want to use cell to compete with the GPU market. They did invest a whole lot into the processor, so why not use it? The draw back is that Cell is still very hard to program.
While I wouldn't buy this laptop, this will push Cell more mainstream and we might see Cell giving the GPU market some competition.

Sony doesn't have the deep pockets of Microsoft. Them buying exclussives would only become a war of attrition in Microsoft would stand a better chance of winning. I think Sony is wise to work out deals and go about it a diffrent way.
not 100% sure but i read somewhere that Netflix customers would still be able to download for free, but it all depends on the subscription you have with netflix.
