@MaximusPrime - We can tell your a complete fanboy. It's more like Wii has found a home in the UK and continues to dominate the charts, while the PS3 and 360 are neck and neck. I guess you don't see how most of the games that are show are on both systems and the 360 seems to have higher ranking. Wow
No more inconvenient then those that bought HD-DVD.
In order for the PS3 to survive 8 years as he claims, Sony needs to get a larger install base. Otherwise what’s the incentive for making games for an old console if you’re not going to make money. Let’s not forget the library has to be rather large to keep attracting people.
I know I’m stepping in the lion’s den with this comment but I’ll try to shed a little light on this. Yes we just went through a format war. The problem is while BLU RAY delivers enough space for high res 1080p movies, it doesn’t offer enough space for backing up Terabyte data storages. I know everyone is saying BLU RAY is the format because the movie industry is aboard but it doesn't meet data backup storage needs of the computer side of the house and at the rate in which games sizes are grow...
Stupid...It's about the game not the stupid trophies and achivement points.
Wait for the holidays to see Sony make a comeback; wait for 2009 that will be Sony’s year; Just Wait Sony will win this war. I’m just not sure how anyone is arriving at those conclusions. Sony has too many things working against it.
The difficulty in unlocking its potential has held the PS3 back from showing us any truly extraordinary graphic advantage over the 360.
The game library is the smallest among the 3 consoles with a great many of the multi system game...
I don’t see BLU RAY having a long fruitful life like the DVD or VHS. BLURAY it’s coming at a time where there are so many competing optical disc and other technologies. While BLURAY offers more capacity than DVD-9 or HD-DVD 50GB, 200GB just isn’t much of a gain when you consider other technologies coming out in the next couple years. I'm ready to have some fun.
Cutting production cost does matter to Sony because they don’t want to post a lost for every PS3 that they sell. Sure they can make it up in the AAA games they are planning to release, but no matter how you look at it you ideally don’t want to lose money to make money.
Not sure why this is big news.
The one thing that is true is Sony need to treat Nintendo as a competitor. Nintendo is a competitor of the PS2 and an indirect competitor of the PS3. The reason is the PS2 has a huge remaining install base of casual gamers. Sony needs to convert these gamers over to the PS3 if they would like the PS3 to last 10 years. If these gamers go over to the Wii or the next gen console come out before PS3 gathers a significant portion of the PS2 gamers it could spell doom to the PS3’s 10 year life beca...
Hopefully a rumor and not true. This is where it crosses the line and Microsoft will loose a gamer to Sony. Achivements are great they are there for a quick thrill as you unlock them and then it becomes a sum to your gamer score. I don't need or want trophies or a medal for any virual home.
I think going to exclusive Achievements and Trophies is starting to go to far. Gamers want to do the most they can in a game after paying 60 dollars. Sony should aim at securing exclusive instead of doing this. It really will just start hurting the whole achievement system.
This is a completely stupid article because Microsoft never said it was there service. They said it’s a partnership to offer Netflix, services through XBL. In addition it would allow for purchase of more movies for those that didn’t have Netflix service. I guess it’s out of the question to ask people writing or approving articles to have common sense.
@You don't need Vista to watch Netflix online...
This game look killer.
Who copied who is silly. For the most part they are different products. Sony’s Home looks like it will offer the most. I really don’t see Nintendo going beyond what they have this generation as far as avatars go. For Microsoft it really was the next logical progression for their gamer card. They could have given a different artistic feel to the Avatars so they didn’t appear like a much improve rip right from the Nintendo Wii. If you really think about it all this was inspired by Microsoft’s g...
Sony really could have beat Microsoft to the punch on this one. I guess the obsession with Blu-Ray being the next disc format has caused the PS3 to suffer this Gen. Now that Microsoft is releasing games that require a hard drive the advantage of Blu-Ray is becoming less. Let’s face it being able to watch Netflix online in HD is cool. Then you add in the fact that there are more DVD’s to select from than Blu-Ray movies… Add in the increased resolution beyond 1080p. 360 is starting to look bett...
I find it funny that the Sony fans are shaking it off because every last exclusives list boasted FFXIII. Then it was said MS list is getting weak what are they going to do when MGS4, FFXIII, RFOM2, GT5 and Home hit, 2008 is the year of the PS3.
If you look on N4G for hottest games this month you will see FFXIII is number 6 which is higher than all of the other PS3 games other than MGS4.
I guess the only question to ask is who’s the bigger geek NegativeCreep427 or thewhoopimen?
@heyheyhey - wow another fanboy trying to spin the news, for the PS3.
