@Factory @Mike124nl: I normally try to hold back on out right just calling people idiots but you two are up there… First your political comments don’t belong here. Most of us come here for games and news on politics is not one of the reasons for this site. On Mark’s point about 3rd party exclusives, I believe you it is important to balance between 3rd party and what you have. Where I differ is I think you can rely on 3rd party exclusives if you treat them right. Sony this time around what way too big headed, they figured they would get exclusives just because they were king last time round. They didn’t show the developers love by helping them cut cost by giving them good development tools, devkits where late on the first generation of PS3 games...

The significance here is that the budgets will get tight all over the company to include the Gaming division of Sony. This will mean you will not see a price drop for sure this quarter and maybe the next. You may see game projects that might be perceived as a risky investment get cancelled or placed on hold. A rush to complete current projects like Home, we can all say Socom more than likely fell under this rush to release (Release use the fund and patch later).

I believe the e...

So you have to laugh at the irony here, Xbox fans can finally say Just wait until Prime comes out. Real Talk: I really was looking forward to this and it sucks that it’s not releasing soon. I guess S!!T happens.

This is silly the fact they had to take a 20% and multiply it by 100 to get 200% shows it wasn't all that much. When you have a 20% increase of a small sales base you don't gain much, basically we aren't even talking 100k in growth maybe a couple thousand. DVD is still out doing BLU RAY significantly, and DD is starting to cut into both of there markets...

I'm going to have to disagree. An extra 20 gigs wow, I can see if you said something like 120GB, besides that you can place any size hard drive in your PS3 that you want. So I really don't see his as a new selling point.

When the 360 released the elite it was get a 120GB drive from a 20GB and the 360 doesn't have the flexibility to have any drive you want in it.

If your statement was wait till Home... That has merit but 20GB...and to add more insult you said just...

Sad to say but BLU RAY is on its way out. When you have big people in the industry saying they don't see it being around for more than five years

Not really sure what he's talking about. Sounds like he's just trying to make a name for himself.

Smart move, shows he's up with the times.

One would have to wonder if 80 gig HD would really increase sales, when since the console release Sony advocated you could install any size hard drive you want with the PS3. I personally think people would be looking more for a price drop to match the 360 or an unknown AAA title to come out in 2008, to spark massive sales.

@ OnslaughtX – I have to ask you do you know anything about business. It’s not surprise Microsoft wants BLU RAY to fail and for good reason. It’s not in their company’s interest to promote it.
BLU RAY uses Java for as the standard platform for its disc. If you know anything about MS and its other products MS has been kicking Java’s but in development with its .NET platform. So if BLU-RAY takes hold it gives Java a much needed boost to the language.
Next the extra hoopla of cop...

Very good read. I like the last point the most. Why blindly lock yourself into one console.

Microsoft has been playing a good game this time around. Instead of hating Microsoft be happy they are doing what many gamers want, that’s why they are selling. I’m pleased with my 360 despite having a RROD. It has a large library of games which I own about 30 of and it keeps me having fun gaming. Don’t get me wrong Sony has good games also but they just don’t have a library as big as the 360 and for the price I can wait, plus I still have my DS, PS2, Wii and my super PC gaming rig and Dell X...

It's sad every time you see a dual platform game and the PS3 doesn't kill the 360. On paper the 360 has the inferior hardware. Programming for the console must be just that hard or the hardware must not be all that much better. I refuse to think every programming studio is lazy.

Thats not totally correct. If your talking Dual Layer DVD vs Single Layer BLURAY, yes BLU RAY is faster but only by 1.07MB but single layer DVD vs single layer BLURAY, DVD is faster by 1.57MB ( http://forums.maxconsole.ne... I was unable to find any Dual Layer BLURAY speeds but one can almost say guess that Dual Layer DVD would beat out Dual Layer BLURAY in speed.

Well there are definitely a lot of delusional fanboys on this site. Present them with an article that brings up several good points and even historic facts, and you get a fanboy that puts a spin on it in favor of Sony.

This article only points out mistakes of other console manufactures and how the history of the PS3 seems to coincide with the miscalculated steps of many companies in the console business.

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat i...
