Yeah, I imagine this was pretty much a given since they hadn't talked about it at all. Though, I can't say I wouldn't love to create my own content, levels and missions in second son. Especially if we were given the freedom of land deformation and piecing houses together. People would be creating their own versions of New York and any other city they lived in or are currently living in. The town I grew up in would be a perfect playground for a game like infamous. It's an old t...
Agreed. Nice read. I love open world games. I remember walking out of the sewers of Oblivion and not believing I could really go anywhere and do anything. I spent the first few hours just staring at the sun and moon through blowing tree branches, taking it all in. The next 20 were spent just roaming around and exploring the world.
It takes me back to when I was a child and would intentionally walk in a different direction to get lost and try to find my way home. It would allo...
The game is based more in reality. The average hacker isnt going to be able to fly a plane. Anyone can drive a car at high speeds, grab a gun and fire, and things that require little skill to figure out. An aircraft isnt very pick up and play. I agree with them leaving them out. I would still love to see them flying around as background banter, for atmosphere though.
I think with Watchdogs, its all about atmosphere and believability. Things a hacker could do, as opposed to fa...
There is a great 18 page article in Edge magazine this month about Watchdogs. Why it was delayed, the systems in place to make sure gamers have a different experience from the person beside them and the technology behind everything that makes this game so awesome. It's a great read, and is available online via Newsstand on Apple devices and through other online magazine readers. Definitely worth the read. It goes into great detail about how intricate the systems are controlling the world ...
They tried this in the 90s with very little fanfare. Even though visuals have improved and the technology has improved, I can't see people wearing a device like this on the head for very long before they get tired or bored. It may immerse you better in the experience, but I believe it's going to be a gimmick that fades away, sort of like Kinect and any other add-on in the history of gaming.
Only time will tell, but I think this may be just another casualty in the hist...
No problem. Yeah, it was why I actually got a 2TB hard drive and put it in my PS4. I figure, by the time this year is out I'll at least be through the 500 GB, if not a terabyte. With games like Second Son, MLB 14, Wolfenstein, Driveclub, Watchdogs and the many others that are supposed to release this year. There are just certain games I know I'm going to play over and over again and instead of switching discs, even while at home, it makes sense to have them digitally and be able to ju...
Second Son is one of those games Im going to be playing for a long time, with many hours being remote play which would require the disc(and me to remember to put it in before I leave the house), so its one of those games I am confident about buying digital. Im not going completely digital this gen, but for open world titles with dozens, if not hundreds, of hours of play... Digital makes sense, especially if you are going to be switching between titles a lot.
Hope this clears ...
Wow! Im glad I got this via digital download. Its one of those games Ill never stop playing for crazy moments like this one... Not to mention the visuals look incredible.
Cant wait!
As much as I want to play this game, I'm glad they pushed it back to further enhance it's gameplay and visuals. I would rather have them push to get 1080P and a locked 30 frames per second on the PS4, then to release it at 960. I hate upscaling. It gives a blurred look to what would be an incredible picture, in true HD. Battlefield 4 is a perfect example of that. It looks good, but in true 1080p, it would look incredible. It would be nice if they released a patch to make that happen. ...
Well, I think a lot of people relied on this game to be their next gen push. Which is why everybody had so much feeling for it. This was touted as the first true next gen game and people were afraid that it wasn't going to live up to the original hype. I can feel for them, because this is the game that truly made me buy a next-generation system. I was on the edge of my seat when that trailer released, myself.
Now, it's really up to the gameplay to prove itself. It is ...
I agree with almost everything except the explosions arent dynamic anymore. You can see that they are all canned animations instead of particle effects now. Which is a shame, because that explosion at the gas station in the original trailer looked incredible. But, if that is one of a few things that got downgraded, I am okay with that as long as the game runs at 1080p and 30 frames per second locked with no tearing.
Hopefully Ubisoft will release some gameplay videos in the n...
Looks better. Ive watched the trailer and almost every previous gameplay video I could find and think those who thought it was just different lighting were correct in the instance of the car jumping over the bridge. If you check out some of the gameplay videos on Youtube or anywhere else, you can see instances of the car looking cel shaded and without reflections in different lighting situations.
I was on the fence about the downgrade issue and while I still think there was a...
You can go to your local lumber store or Home Depot or Lowe's and have them shave you a slice of any piece of wood in the store any size you want it for a couple dollars a square foot. To pay this much is ridiculous when you could do it yourself at home and save yourself probably $180 or $190. You could even stain it any color you wanted or stick with the original woodgrain. 3M makes an adhesive that comes right off when you want it to, you could use to stick it on your system.

This is what I've been thinking also. I think it was a mix from different systems both current and last gen. If not, Ubisoft is going to experience monumental backlash from both gamers and the press, maybe even the Canadian and US governments. As news of this drama has been very far-reaching.
Only time will tell, I just hope that time comes soon. Before the game releases.
Is anyone else thinking this game is going to be delayed once again, reworked and released in 2015 or 2016? The press is just too bad surrounding the game. If it is anything less than the Jimmy Fallon gameplay presentation, there will be horrible backlash... If not a class action lawsuit.
I am hoping that the video released was a mish mash of current and last gen and some glitchy lighting. Otherwise, it is going to be a huge PR nightmare for Ubisoft. Basically blatant bait an...
I wish more developers would do this. Im tired of having the game ruined by overzelous journalists and overbearing developers. Im glad that I will be able to explore and see things that werent ruined by news sites. Cant wait to play it!
I just watched the new trailer extensively, pausing it when I saw shots of the city both day and night. While I'm not so sure that the polygon count was downgraded, what I did notice is that there are no shadows been cast by pretty much anything. It looks like the sun and moon are the only light sources that create shadows and I'm not even sure that isn't prebaked. It looks like they took self shadowing out, which gives everything that flat low resolution look. I also noticed that...
Am I the only gamer who is tired of hearing about system wars? Who cares which system sells what? Is anyone playing games, or are they watching the sales charts in hopes of justification?
Both systems are going to have great games. Start playing them and stop worrying about which brand pees further.
I would scream like a little girl and run til I saw daylight. :)
the fourth screen shot answered one of my biggest questions, would there be rain during the day. thank you for posting them. I can't wait to play this game.
