ATI, I think you underestimate the size of even one street in New York, not to mention the entire city plus buroughs. It's going to take more than just a few days to learn the layout. I don't care how good of a game player you are, no one has played a game that is going to cover the square footage that this game does in its open world environment. It will take you long enough just to find another team, nonetheless trying to hunt them down and kill them each one by one. I was born and ...

Well, to Ubisofts credit, they did say that Chicago was so huge it was impossible to fit it all in in the game. Unless they were going to scale back on visuals a lot, they had to do what they did in order to create the experience they wanted to. They did keep the best parts and for Chicagoans, they should recognize more than a few landmarks and streets.

The fact that they were able to keep the visual fidelity they did with the size of the city they have is just amazing. I wou...

Wow. That shot at the subway station is incredible. This game is unbelievable. This is truly, I think in a lot of people's eyes, going to be the start of next generation and actually may spoil people away from other games if it really does match the freedom mentioned by UBisoft. If, someday, they can increase the number of people in multiplayer to 16 or 32… People are going to go nuts in this game world. I'm wondering if we can work on missions together in multiplayer. Say if I invite...

The lady yelling at the cabdriver for splashing her with water via a puddle in watchdogs is hilarious. I was wondering if this kind of minute stuff would happen in the game. It makes you wonder what else is going to happen at any given time with any of the civilians. I guarantee I will spend the first hundred hours just walking around looking at and watching stuff. I'm just hoping there are jobs you can do, like cabdriver, police officer, firemen, etc. Because being able to play crazy tax...

While I appreciate the effort, it's kind of in vain, because what does this list really accomplish? I don't think anybody's ever going to need it for much of anything. It's not really a reference sheet because it doesn't give specifics about each game other than system and date of release. It's just a list of games.

I almost feel bad for the guy who put this together because he spent so much of his time doing so. Time he could've spent with this fa...

Exactly. Though I do question the necessity of normal mapping smoke when it is such a small part of a scene. Generally, if you have physically correct particles in place, the smoke should account for changes in the humidity, wind speed and direction, pressure from the explosions and physical properties in and around the smoke stream anyways. So the need to plump up the particles, like this video shows, isn't really a necessity I would see in any game environment. That is, unless smoke was...

I was wondering about this. Though I haven't been back to New York in a few years, I can still remember the street layouts. This is going to come in anyone's advantage who knows the street layout because they can tell people where to meet them. If you get a gang of New Yorkers on a team against another team of non New Yorkers, you are screwed. Because they can tell you where to meet at this street and this intersection at this business or the B apartment building on fifth. Whereas eve...

Not only that, it also fails to recognize that 95% of these games that are released are crapware That is the difference between consoles and PCs. There is a quality standard that developers have to meet on consoles, as per the manufacturers specifications, whereas PC... any kid down your street can make a game about poop and publish it and that can be considered in the 300+ titles a month.

Quantity doesn't mean quality.

The gameplay looked decent in the preview video, though the horrendous pop in that occurred right in front of the player was inexcusable for a next gen title. Especially one that doesn't look like it's pushing the visual capabilities of the systems very far. I have it as the next game shipped in my Gamefly que. I will give it a shot and see how I like it. Hopefully, the preview video was just an early build and didnt represent the final quality of the game. Otherwise, I feel that this...

They are using procedural generation for a lot of the animations. So when he says you never see the same thing twice, he's probably right. He said they have over 3000 different profiles in the cities that can combine randomly to create new people. So a John Smith and a Brenda Johnson may turn into a Brad Johnson and Brenda Smith. With different occupations, different lifestyles, etc.

Watch the long video from PAX East 2014 and you will see exactly what he is talking about...

Its nice to see this game getting so much love. Hopefully it will spark the flame for more developers to release air and space combat games on the PS4. Hopefully with support for force feedback flight sticks.

Yes! Any game like Freespace, is a welcome game in my PS4 library. Hopefully, we see this soon.

Bravo! I wholly agree. People are far too eager around here to spread rumors and bark innuendo, without knowing the facts. After all, it is site hits that prove a journalists integrity and not the content of the articles themselves, right?

This is standard fare in almost every industry. Whether you're an actor, game designer, publisher, movie critic or car parts manufacture… If you throw any soirée, you generally give gifts to those who attend. It could be something ...

Actually, I did read the article. Using watchdogs to start it off is the way to get clicks. Nothing more. There is no reason they should've mentioned watchdogs it all in that article. Because watchdogs isn't guilty of overstating in game visuals. The newest PC video shows that.

As I said in my previous statement, yes there are game developers who have overstated in game visuals. It is an issue in the industry, but using watchdogs as an example is a bad one. Use a game...

Seriously, how do these articles get put through? Beating the horse to death over and over again isn't going to give you any more satisfaction. Find a new horse! Gamers have already moved on. Guess what? The game hasn't been downgraded, if anything, it's been upgraded. Recently shown in the newest PC video and PS4 videos. Get over it. It's not news anymore. Find something else to falsely report on.

E3 has always been a industry show to show off upcoming techno...

Another game I havent had the honor of playing. With next gen, Tomb Raider like, sheen applied... between this and Last Of Us, I will be in pure gaming bliss.

Great things on the horizon for us PS4 gamers. Cant wait!

I agree that without next gen graphics, upgraded hardware is pointless. Visuals draw you into the gameplay, help you feel like you are in the fantasy world developers created for you. The better the visuals, the more they pull you in. Whether photo realistic or stylized, any type of graphic on screen depiction benefits from faster hardware. Allowing developers the freedom to fully realize their visions, from concept to release... without limitations, or at least, less of them.

This is great news. Especially for those of us who were Xbox 360 owners last generation and didn't get a chance to play this great game. The same went for Tomb Raider for me. So, these next gen rereleases and upgrades are awesome.

I understand it may not be everybody's cup of tea. Some people feel they should be focusing on sequels and true next gen games. But some of these games are true next gen games and were just released before technology caught up to the designe...

Yeah, so what we learned from the video? Nothing we didn't know before. Except, at the end of the video he did confirm full HD 1080p for the PS4. Something nobody from Ubisoft said, on record, before. Though, sources said that they had confirmed it at the conference they had a few weeks back. Nobody from the development team ever said full 1080p HD in response to Gamers questions prior to this video

So, that pretty much seals the deal for anybody who thought they downgrad...
