The video in question looked awesome! It should squash any rumors that the PS4 version looks bad or downgraded. The lighting, shadows, reflections and weather... Mind blowing! I dont think people realize just how much computational power it takes to calculate all of these realtime systems. Especially the shadows. If ypu think of all of the objects, including the NPCs, vehicles, vegetation, buildings, etc... Then add in animation of those shadows. Then reflections in the water and puddles, ca...
Exactly. This is just a guy upset over not being invited. Ubisoft doesnt want to ruin the game for the gamers by exposing too much of it before release. On top of that, its crunch time... Would you rather they take time out to make a demo, or time to polish the final game to perfection?
People just love to make everything into a conspiracy theory.
Because people can't leave this graphics thing well enough alone. It seems some gamers want to believe there is a downgrade and nothing is going to change their minds, so their grasping at straws trying to find something bad about the visuals to draw people to their sites.
Both resolutions were already confirmed on multiple occasions. 1080p PS4 - 960p Xbox One

Yeah, that's a little ridiculous. This game in no way, shape or form should be under 1080p/60fps. You can count me out. I refuse to support developers who are lazy. Especially, considering this game is $39.99. Season pass or no.
Yes! An open world Sonic game? Count me in.. I just hope they can pull off the same sort of ambience the 2D games gave off. Fast, frantic action with rewarding exploration.
This is a welcome addition to my PS4 library, since platformers are few and far between these days. Let's just hope this isn't an April fools prank. As I would be very disappointed.
This is great news. I haven't started the game yet, I probably will after I finish Killzone and Tomb Raider. I will appreciate the locked 30 frames per second. I'm not big on tearing, it looks especially horrendous on my big screen. The addition of choosing time of day is also nice for post game enjoyment. I also agree that weather should be another function that we can choose. There are certain situations, where great lighting, combined with time of day and weather conditions would m...
Im a fan of Sony and I agree with this. They are in a bad way right now and have been for quite some time. I think it was a horrible mistake for them to jump into the VR game. THEy dont have the capital to keep shoveling money into the fire like this. They saw the exposure the Rift was getting and thought they could cash in on the hype.
Unfortunately, no first party accessory has ever succeeded, in the history of gaming. Not one. Hardware manufacturers keep trying to innovate...
That facial animation character, still doesn't pick up the intricacies of emotion. You can see that when the actor was slightly smiling, the character didn't do the same. The emotion didn't come off the same with the animated character as it did with the actor. It still needs a bunch of work. It is better than what it was, but there needs to be some sort of new facial capture system made to capture these nuances to better give off the feeling of emotion by in game NPCs.
That's what I'm saying. Ubisoft has been doing nothing over the past two weeks but try to make people see that different times of day and different lighting conditions can cause the visuals to look different from one point of time to the next. The game looks phenomenal. Yet, people convinced that a downgrade happened... Their minds can't be changed. It seems they just want to hold onto that notion that Ubisoft lied to them and the whole game world is crashing down around them.
Can we knock this crap off already? Seriously. It's like some gamers want the game visuals to be downgraded. Do you play games? Or do you play graphics? The game was never supposed to look like the E3 2012 video on consoles. Ubisoft made that very clear that it was running on a high-end PC and that was it. E3 2013 was running on a PS4 dev kit and was representative of what the console game was to look like. Watch the welcome to Chicago video. That is exactly what the PS4 game will look li...
This game was my first purchase on the SNES and my first purchase on the Wii marketplace. One of my favorite games of all time, combining two of my favorite genres: City Building and Side Scrolling Action.
Yes, a proper remake definitely needs made. I would buy a Nintendo system to play it. PilotWings is another game that needs a proper remake on consoles.
I downloaded Infamous, hopefully this patch will be out by the time I actually get to it. Playing Killzone now and will probably do Thief and Tomb Raider next. Im not a big fan of tearing and a choice of time of day or dynamic, would be awesome for post game enjoyment. Especially since certain times of day look so incredible in the pictures.
I love when developers support their titles like this, post launch. It shows their true passion for perfection, in the games fans eyes....
Who cares, I'm going to be enjoying again the matter what anybody else thinks. Haters are going to hate, no matter how much convincing you try to do. Ubisoft has done nothing but squash the rumors for the past two weeks and all anybody can do is make up new ones. Almost if certain gamers want the downgrade rumors to be true.
Either way, I could care less. While they sit and moan and groan about every little aspect they don't find appealing… I'll be playing one of ...
Mantle is based off of PS4s own SDK(PC version of it). Using it to develop for the system would be redundant, as developers are already able to bypass most drivers and code to the metal.
Yep. You and I both!
This is what people don't realize. They took that one trailer out of context and everybody ran with it without proper verification. The game looks phenomenal. The difference between the PC version and the PS4 version will be resolution. They said the streets may be more dense with civilians, maybe a few effects here and there, but for the most part they are going to look identical. As he said, at the same resolution, you will find it very hard to tell the difference between the PC version...
Bring it on. My favorite genre is air combat. So the more, the merrier. Even if an upgrade from last generation. Now all we need is a force feedback flight stick.
Correction, E3 2012 was the PC version. E3 2013 was the PS4. Which still looks spectacular. I don't get it, do the PC elitists get an email every time somebody posts something about a console game, so they can troll?
How many times are we going to beat this dead horse? Ubisoft has already disproven the downgrade many times over. Watch the latest videos for reference.
