I think it depends on how well the game does open world. If it is a revelation and sets a bar for other open world games to jump over, then no. If it does it average or worse and brings nothing exciting to the series, I dont think it matters... As long as the series returns to its glory.
I prefer open world games, because I am an explorer at heart, but dont mind linear scripted titles, if the result is cinematic and makes me feel a part of something bigger. I just dont like l...
They've been treating employees like this for a very long time, going the whole way back to the late 80s. Corporate doesn't care if all of their employees die of heart attacks at the job, just as long as they keep their quotas and profit up. It's disgusting and I wish people, especially gamers, would boycott working there and buying from them. This just goes to show you the disrespect upper management has for the employees that sell the products that pay their salaries and the peo...
While this is very cool, Id imagine it wouldnt be very good for the longevity of your system. Wood absorbs and stores heat, the last thing you want with a console that does its best to disperse that heat as fast as possible.
Also, the price is ridiculous. You can buy thin pieces of wood at your local home depot or lowes and cut them to size to have the very same look. You would also have the option then, of staining that wood any color you wanted. 3M makes an adhesive that yo...
No problem man. I should've posted the link to the information in the first place. I didn't think about it. Definitely check it out. I picked it up for about $110. You should be able to do the same. It's easy to peel out of the case, if you need any help just let me know and I will walk you through it.
Its 5400RPM and the drive is made by Samsung. It isnt ghetto and it isnt going to screw up your PS4. The drive inside the external casing just isnt available in an internal version yet. Im guessing they want to make more cash by selling the external at a higher price.
Ive been building computers for 20 years, this drive is no different than any other. Follow the links in the link I provided to find all of the specifications for both the Samsung 2TB drive and the PS4s own. The...
I hope its on its way for the PS4... I never got a chance to play it last gen. If it gets the Tomb Raider treatment, it will be gaming nirvana.
I upgraded my PS4 hard drive to 2TBs last week. Here is the process, which includes a link to the same drive I bought and used:

I really enjoyed the review. Informative, precise and fun to read. One of the best reviews Ive read in some time. Thank you.
I rented the game from Gamefly and the reviews make me not even want to play it. I dont want to ruin my time with the series, by soiling its good name. Especially so early into next gen, with technical issues. It shows how confusion and frustration in development can lead to a poorly executed game. This title has been in development for so long, slated ...
You cannot blame Microsoft for this, you can't blame anybody. Microsoft knew they were going to have a harder time selling their system in Europe, which has a large Sony Fanbase, so they offered incentives to try to get people to try the Xbox brand over Sonys own. I'd be surprised if Microsoft didn't give away a car for every Xbox bought in Japan, when they release there.
If you were one that bought the Xbox early and feel like you got the shaft, there are two oth...
I agree, though 1080p is my benchmark for this generation. I hate games that are less than 1080p... they look blurry, color muted and jaggy compared to a true HD title(Battlefield 4, Im looking directly at you). Of course, it probably doesn't help that I'm gaming with a projector using a 120" screen, so it's easier to see the issues with a game that's not true 1080p. But there should be no excuse. A game that's not true 1080p, whether it be 30 frames per second or 60 ...
Other than a little bit of lighting, a few effects and a tiny bit of texture work, the game looks pretty much the same on both platforms. Definitely the sign of an aging engine. Guessing thats why there are so many reports of frame rate issues with the next gen versions. The game was built for last gen and ported to this, using the same engine. Which didn't even seem to have been optimized for multicore systems. Just kind of left as is.
I guess that's to be expected o...
I really appreciate the article. Thank you for posting it. Feel free to add me to your Playstation friends list. Just let me know who you are in the message area of the friends request: BadboyStudiosInc
Im not sure if you saw this video or not...

20 minutes of gameplay and video interviews with the staff. Some great stuff! Enjoy!
I agree. My expectations aren't skyhigh, I was just kind of venting my wishes for the game. Have they said if all buildings or most of them are going to be enterable? I would imagine that a game like this, that has you scavenging for supplies, would allow players to enter most buildings, if not through the front door then finding a way in either through force or a window or something.
At least that's my hope for this game. I just see so many opportunities within the d...
When this released, a friend and I stayed up for 2 days trying to one up the other. PilotWings 64 was even worse. I remember tossing on the bird suit and just flying around to the soothing music, for hours straight, just taking in all of the scenery and trying to find landmarks. What a classic!
Great stuff!
Wow. This looks incredible. I hope a version of it makes it over to next gen consoles at some point. I will definitely support it on kickstarter, if that is the case.
This is exactly, word for word, what I was going to write. I haven't had a chance to play one Uncharted game and I would love to play them with a next gen, Tomb Raider like sheen on them.
This game seems so incredible, both visually and in gameplay. With the nature of the game being a post-apocalyptic world, where you have to fend for yourselves and find supplies and weaponry, does that mean that all houses and buildings can be entered by the player? Also, is there an economy in the game? Could I set up a shop and sell all of the items I found?
What I am picturing is seeing a house or building across a long expanse of land and looking around, wondering if I...
I'm tired of all the Fanboy, flame bait crap around here. I think some of you spend more time on these boards bitching about the competition system or talking up your own, then you actually do playing games. I own a PS4 this gen, owned an Xbox 360 last and I love playing games on both of them. This game was not properly optimized for next gen systems. Hasnt this game has been in development for more than 10 years, in one form or the other?
There are games that look 50 tim...
I'm sorry to say, I kind of saw this coming. The problem is, by going back to their roots, they end up rehashing old gameplay thats been done over and over again in the past 20 years, in other franchises, better than the original could have imagined.
It's just a shame that they couldn't have gone back and added to the already great formula that the original provided. Made it fresh and new and feel like something that no other game has accomplished. I remember firi...
This generally happens at the end of any project. People are brought on board to help complete the game, knowing that once its done they will drift onto other shores to do the same. Not really headline material.
