I agree with you. I am not saying that Respawn was right. But I can't help but think that EA had a hand in everything. Don't you think it's very strange that EA didn't say anything about it?
I know it feels like Respawn is responsible, but these guys are also humans. They have to face teh backlash by players for an action that was most likely pulled by EA. From corporate meetings to fear of getting fired to fan backlash, on top of game development being one ...
I mean, Ori & The Blind Forest would be a possible GOTY alongside Witcher 3, Bloodborne etc in 2015.
Hahaha.... Good joke
I felt Gears 4 was pretty mediocre and the rest of the series is quite generic.
Personally, don't think any game is going to top DMC5 this year.
Waits for all the MCU fanboys to gooble this shit up.
Seriously, it looks as bad (Mechanically) as the Thor game that was released as a tie into the first movie.
Creators are what create things consumers pay for.
Sure society in general just needs the best source of entertainment, nothing else, but still.
They are also humans.
Respect is a two way street.
For me, 'consumer is king' is just as stupid as 'vote with your wallet'. When one side gets more power by law or by unsaid societal rules conflict happens.
I think consumers and creators need to respect each other.

If you judge the success of games by sales, play CoD every year :) since that sells the most. And keep away from GOTY lists because you judge by how many people bought the game, not by how well a game is made.

Oh I know, Geoff Keighleigh has reached Kojima's underwear practically, even being featured in his game. I loved how they were sucking off each other in yesterday's presentation.
You can't appeal core gamers and casuals at the same time.
It is one or the other when it comes to SP games. That's what I feel anyways. Mass appeal always means targeting the casual consumer.
DMC5's 20 seconds of trailer had me more hyped than the 30 or so minutes I have seen of this game.
DMC5 will be GOTY easily. Also technical achievement because that good looking a game running at 60 fps is insanely extraordinary.
It's funny how people crying over virtual skins (And as a result caring about them) can be a metaphor for the superficial nature of the majority of gamers.
I wouldn't call Ken Levine cocky though. Better example would be devs from EA or Ubisoft or Actvision.
I would recommend it, but as mentioned it is not for the general masses. It is kinda like Elex. It lacks the polish of most modern games.
Witcher 3 was also technically not this HUGE open world. It was divided into 3 hubs- Kaer Morhen, Mainland and Skellige.
They have the capability if given resources. Technomancer wasn't 'bad' by any stretch. Just needs more polish honestly.
If you have played Witcher 3, you will know. CDPR handles stuff VERY subtly, almost as subtly as people in real life do, not the blatant pandering that many AAA devs do.
I am not anticipating it. Stop driving it. But why would someone post such a stupid article?
Not every major game needs to have the hype of other games. There are many other games that deserve the hype. Heck I have realized that hyped games aren't great anyways apart from a few exceptions.
If I were to drive a personal agenda I could write articles on:
Where Is the Hype for Hollow Knight: Silksong?
Where Is the Hype for Atomic Heart?...
Most normies get sold on such games. There's a reason Kevin Spacey and Jon Snow (Idr actor name) were in CoD games.
A prime example that we live in a culture where broken incomplete games can launch and people 'having fun' means that people who don't like it should move on.
Yeah sure, do that and as such games become popular, let companies like EA know that "You can launch broken games. Not like us consumers have any standards to be met. You can loot our money."
Not to mention, destroying the legacy of one of the best developers out there in the p...
Another (wannabe) mature person looking for emotional turmoil in photorealistic games chock filled with cut scenes and shallow/no gameplay mechanics?
And you don't find it strange that EA had zilch to say in this whole hustle?
