Are you sure? Call of Duty sells the most each year.
When their games were PS exclusives I thought the games were boring and David Cage is a bad video game writer. This change hasn't changed my opinion. I wouldn't play these games even if they were free honestly.
Dark Souls is how you do story-telling in games. Relying on cut scenes is basically games relying on movies to tell the story.
And even then, without conventional story-telling the story of Dark Souls' world is very good.
RPGs are what define the medium. They are the peak of what video games can do as a story-telling medium. All the best stories in games come from RPGs- Neverwinter Nights, Dark Souls, Witcher 3, PlanescapeTorment, Fallout (The OG), Deus Ex, Persona 5, Nier: Automata.
If a game is an impressive RPG, it'll be impressive as a game.
The headline is oxymoronic (More like moronic)
"One side is always right"
This is the reason why a world like cyberpunk exists. A utopia where the people in power change the rules. I loved what Light Yagami said in Death Note:
"If we catch Kira, he is evil. If he wins and rules the world, then he is justice."
Even that aside, considering that human masses are at the top of the fickle chart, I wouldn't count on the opinion of the masses.
Not needing hollywood stars and finding something interesting and doing it are two different things.
Yep. Completely. If consumers weren't shallow enough to want "realistic grafix", we can have stories that are interactive in a way no other mode of story-telling can match.
A book tells one singular story, with a start and an end even if the story might be complex.
In a game with an interactive story, the involvement of the player leading to certain outcomes can have a more profound effect on the consumer.
In books, the ch...
Ninja Theory is an average game developer at best.
Also I find it really funny that in the process of spoiling one of the best action franchises in the world, they made the best action game that the west has ever produced.
Also looks more fun and visceral tbh
I mean which game in recent memory has ricochet bullets and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Combine that with what most people are saying that it i more of an immersive sim. Oh I am so ready.
Just give me Ninja Gaiden and I'll be happy ;-;
Witcher 1 and 2 were just as great. Witcher 3's scope was just unimaginable, I still haven't found a game similar in scope and scale. But that aside, Witcher 1 and 2 are great, 2 is a masterpiece.
The thing is.... EA and Bethesda are AAA companies. This was an indie game which Sony marketed. No one knows if Sean was made to say the stuff, but considering where they are, I would give their next game a chance.
Betehsda and EA are famous for ruining everything they touch. Except maybe Respawn, Tango and Arkane (Till now anyways)
And here we go again.
It is indeed sad to see how civility has fallen where people ask sexual preferences of virtual characters to justify their own existence.
Idk about Brits, am not interested in politics, but that gameplay looked dull as hell.
Not to mention they still can't 'git gud' with the driving mechanics since Watch Dogs 1
No idea how you say expensive as hell when the same company is producing FFVII which is on a completely different scale. The environments look drab and the heroes don't have much to go for them. Their costumes look uninspired. Also, the voice acting is mediocre, especially after Spiderman PS4's almost perfect casting.
Looks painfully average. As expected co-op and service-based story-telling. And everything gives me vibes of "They have cheapened out".
Anything by Arkane is on my radar
Shinji Mikami.
Nuf said. This trailer is soooooo good. Telekinetic powers are probably a thing.
Witcher 3 already did that but ok.
Most franchises don't evolve the way Witcher did, both in terms of scale and quality. Most developers tend to stick to a formula or just drop the ball because of publisher intervention. CDPR is in the same league as From Soft or Arkane and Capcom (Because of their past and more recent success) for me.
The only hope I have from cyberpunk 2077 is that it can live up to Deus Ex's legacy of a cyberpunk world which is...
