Will have to agree. This Spiderman is the best rendition of Spiderman in any game and tied with Tobey and Spiderverse's Spidermen. I would love to see where the character goes.

You do realize, I have talked about just 4 months of the year right? The games who's release dates have been confirmed. There is Psychonauts 2, System Shock 3 (Possibly), Tales of Arise, Kerbal Space Programme 2 all in 2020. Possibly the best gaming year of the gen right next 2017 which saw Persona 5, Nier: Automata and Nioh in the same year.
Also Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite were just OK compared to what their franchises represented.

Honestly, 2013 didn't have anything. Next year, just the first half is blowing- Ori 2, Vampire Masquerade, Cyberpunk 2077, Dying Light 2 and these are just the games without counting the indies. So 2020 won by a longshot.
I think you should also look at Outbuddies, a game that slipped my mind while making this list. (Based on Valfaris and Indivisible)
Ever played DMC5?
That game has some gorgeous visuals, great motion capture, crisp animations etc all the while running at 60 fps even on base consoles and possibly having the deepest combat system ever conceived. Now that is a technical achievement that will be hard to top by any game.

The art style and new turn based combat system look great. Feel that 505 Games have gone under the radar this year in terms of recognition.
There is something known as 'progression of art form' which isn't happening.
Not saying Sony and Nintendo are pushing boundaries, but MS doesn't have one good game this gen from their first party titles. Their best games are Ori & The Blind Forest and Cuphead, both of which weren't their marquee titles.
If gears or halo or SoT or crackdown were fundamentally good games, I might have excused them, but they are generic horsecrap.

I mean PS2 was a gen that had Ninja Gaiden, DMC1,3 etc. This gen? Apart from DMC5 there is literally nothing.
What is the state of immersive sims? People would rather play cheap thrill games than see the artistic side of the medium.

This looks miles better than Battletoads.
The only things missing I feel are character animation fluidity which can be tweaked furthermore and enemy variety which given such a small slice or even a Beta might just be for demo purposes.

I am not a fan of Sony or Nintendo exclusives, but heck, I respect them for not having egregious MTs while also having decent games. Microsoft might as well stoop down to EA's level at this point.
