First of all, it isn't exactly a shooter.
Second, no FPS game is coming close to Doom.
Wow....
I consider myself a noob and still beat the game on Death March with the right use of potions. It wasn't easy, but manageable. On easy I would suppose it was a cakewalk for anyone. The damage you take is negligible to the damage you dish out.
Shit game will now run with shit performance? How poetic.
Idiots at twinfinite. I opened the article expecting games with philosophical themes and decent action but I set the expectation bar wayyy too high.
I just got hack n salshes. These stupid people are the reason general masses tend to lump games that might not even be RPGs into RPGs.
Shit list.
Better trilogies
Shadowrun Trilogy
Dark Souls Trilogy
Darksiders (Even tho 3 was relatively underwhelming)
Dishonored trilogy
These replace 4 of the 5 options in there.
Both Skyrim and Fallout 4 were mediocre. Fallout 76 was just utter garbage.
And got better reviews doesn't mean anything. God Hand got a 3 from IGN even back in 2006. It still is right up there among the best character action games ever made alongside DMC and Ninja Gaiden.
Not really. For me, it is about the games. This generation has seen a lot of games come to PC because of how niche they were on consoles. I am not a fan of mainstream titles, so it doesn't matter if I get to play the Uncharteds or the God of War games or Gears of Wars or whatever MS publishes these days, but games like Nier: Automata, Nioh, Yakuza etc wouldn't have come to PC in earlier generations and those games I have adored this gen
Yes PS4 has those odd exclusi...
My PC was twice the cost of my PS4, but my PS4 is sitting there unconnected because I tend to do a lot of my gaming on PC. And my PC is around 4 years old at this point. PS4 comes around for the exclusives, so it has pretty much been disconnected after Spiderman and God of War.
Whenever I hear people say "The Last of Us has done for narrative storytelling in games has yet to be matched"
What did it do? Throw together a bunch of cutscenes that told a half-decent story?
Dark Souls/Bloodborne deserve it beause they did something with the medium that very few people try. Same goes for something like Nier: Automata, Hollow Knight, Witcher 3, Divinity: Original Sin 2. These are stories that can only be told through games and...
"over hyped by pc fans"
Same can be said for all exclusives just replaced by:
"over hyped by ps4 fans"
You aren't objectively stating what's wrong.
Inb4 gameplay is clunky. RPGs are supposed to be clunky. Witcher 3 might just be the least clunkiest of them all, but it's also the least RPG of them all. I mean if you have played games like Gothic, Risen, Kingdoms of Amalur or more recentl...
Idk why people bring up Metacritic in an age when critics are shit, but alright if that opinion matters to you that much, there is no point in discussing.
They don't try anything different, they just simplify the games to appeal to the lowest common denominator.
@Armaggedon
If I had a problem with jankiness in games, I wouldn't play RPGs in the first place. TES design wise is just bleh at this point even compared to the older ga...
Do remember, those games you mentioned aren't made by Bethesda, they are published by Bethesda. Arkane is a studio with incredible pedigree, same goes with Tango Games and iD software. Not so much the case with Bethesda.
Do you really think third party are the only games?
I could name a hundred more games that are of exceptional quality but won't be on the list because people haven't played them.
"safe to assume', yes safe to wrongly assume that the people who have played Dark Souls have also played Hollow Knight or Salt & Sanctuary, safe to wrongly assume so many things.
Idk why I am even explaining to someone who brought up the lo...
Deus Ex (The OG) comes to mind when you say timeless classic.
Too many to choose from.
Then again this is a majority vote. It doesn't really say anything because a majority of these people don't even play most of the games out there. With limited experience, it is far easier to choose a game of the decade. As an art form is consumed more, I feel the understanding and selection of the medium becomes harder to pinpoint since many games do some things better than others. Be it using the medium to full potential (RPGs like Witcher...
They have been streamlining and simplifying since 3. TO me teh franchise died at Skyrim. Oblivion and Morrowind were great tho. Don't expect anything from Bethesda at this point.
This list just screams- The Domination of The Normies tbh.
Sad really.
Epic hasn't been customer friendly one bit (Unless you can be baited that easily just because of free games/sales rather than the quality of service they provide) and still has a foothold in the market.
Well some of the biggest names in 2019 multiplat were on Epic- Metro, The Outer Worlds and many more. I wonder if the sales will be back to normal or even more considering these games are coming to Steam this year.
Not to mention STeam has its own exclusive in Half Life.
This is the second time he has confirmed this lul.... Tbh idc about this, wasn't impressed on PS4. I just want Persona 5 and Bloodborne on PC.
