Meh.... Don't think so. It depends on mainstream gamers. I mean CoD hasn't changed since 2005 and we have passed 3 generations. So it depends on how low the mainstream audience sets the bar this time as well.
B.... But.... But PC gamers are pirates....
Capcom proved otherwise with DMC5, but OK.
Not dissing on Platinum, but DMC and Ninja Gaiden have been on top of this genre for over a decade.
I also don't get Platinum's obsession with bullet time. It's cool for the first couple of games, but the trick has gotten old.
Tbh I still think Nier: Automata is better than DMC5 overall, but that's partially because of Yoko Taro's brilliance.
It wasn't underwhelming for me, but it felt like a missed opprtunity when the player was limited due to the grind.
Could have been one of the best character action games.
As a person who played Dark Souls wayyyy after Bloodborne, I have to say, I was literally awed at Dark Souls. Dark Souls is definitely the better game. Bloodborne is great in iyts own right.
Sad really because DMC and Ninja Gaiden games are actually the peak of the character action genre.
DMC 5 DESERVED THIS MUCH AND MORE.... That game is just lubbbb.... I hope that if a Ninja Gaiden game in the veins of NG Black/ 2 comes out, that sells this much too.
Pretty mediocre game tho.... FighterZ was so much better.... The art style, animations and mechanics were 10/10. Music was solid and there was no shitty open world tropes. And the story was half decent for a DBZ game.
I mean, if devs cant write decently, thgen might as well not put the story in the game? Follow John Carmack's quote of "Story in a game is like story in a porn".... It's when game devs try to "eMoTiOnAlLy" impact me by shoehorning plot points is when I feel, meh.
As for your second argument, yes every game does not need to be spectacular and I don't have a narrow lens is why I don't play these games. I play clunky games galore from Elex t...
All of them having the same template, bad writing, generic gameplay and shit optimization.
Yes, if you like that, sure. They aren't bad because each individual game is bad. They are just a blob of mediocrity repeated over and over again which is what makes them bad.
Well mass audiences are dumb.... Don't get angry at figures.
All will be crap. They haven't made a decent game since R6S
It's funny how a movie franchise that has gone to shit meets a game franchise that has gone to shit, both of which started off well.
Loved the first one. Definitely hyped afff
Considering it is running at 60 fps..... That is a huge achievement. They and Capcom could have easily pushed visual barriers past any console games this gen if they weren't going for 60 fps I think.
Lets not forget, it is also on aplatform that hasn't sold much (PCVR).
I doubt CB2077 was shifted because of Alyx.
If you think Deus Ex is boring stick to mainstream forums and play CoD, please. Pretty please. PLEASE. :)
Stay away from actually good 'games'. GO experience movies.
Right. Because a linear cinematic narrative has more functions than an open world RPG with multiple endings and side quests that have the potential to be better than what most other games provide. On top of that guns that don't seem generic and hacing abilities and what not.
Definitely, a game with far fewer mechanics, more less cut scenes, less motion capture, no story divergence is going to be difficult cuz ...... Fanboyism
To say an Insomniac game has no soul *sigh* *BIG SIGH*
And nobody cared because Xbox didn't market it properly.
Rocket League or rather Super Acrobatic..... Cars says "Hi"
