I never played these, even though I owned a Dreamcast and an Xbox. I will pick these up for PS4 when/if they come. It'd be a bonus if they came to Switch, but that's just hoping for too much I feel.
I can see your point, definitely. I'd say it's a bit like A Link to the Past meets Ocarina of Time. The dungeons and items were great, but it still went through the all-too-familiar "Beat three dungeons (forest, goron, zora) then six more in a different world"
I'd say that Twilight Princess is a great game, but BotW is better, in my opinion.
@Foxtrot
What does that have to do with what was said?
OP states that it's just a tablet with controllers slapped on the side, having an online structure like Xbox or PS wouldn't change his concept of what the console is.
In fact, with the exception of the 3DS and I guess Virtual Boy, every Nintendo console has sold more in North America than anywhere else.
It's pretty bad that some people think a console has to be like everything else on the market in order for it to be considered new or a good thing.
Getting the Switch plus two games for 300$ also won't happen until they drop the price for a Switch :P
You can't do that anywhere, you can only do it when connected to a network connection. Hopefully a stable one.
I didn't know that a laptop was a console. You learn something new every day :)
Don't people here typically criticize gamingbolt?
Splatoon 2 is catching up in sales to the PS4 version of Dragon Quest XI, though. Dragon Quest had a killer launch, but, remember, there are a lot more PS4's in Japan than Switch units still. Splatoon 2 might edge out Dragon Quest there if given enough time.

Edit: Nevermind, I get you. You are saying across multiple profiles. Like if I have two profiles on my Switch and a friend has two profiles on their switch we could trade indefinitely on all of those profiles instead of just being forced to use one profile per game, as it is now. Right?
They had the right type of combat, but the way they implemented catching familiars was atrocious. There was a mission I spent 7 hours on just trying to get one stupid banana familiar. I ended up giving up on it.
@Lighter9
Better what? Better graphics? Valid point, but that still has little to do with Sony and much to do with just more power. The game is coming to Xbox One and PC too.
Edge magazine seems to think it is.
@Sono421
I like the game because of it's overarching sense of freedom. It's the go-anywhere-do-anything mentality that many people love in open-world games, and Zelda absolutely nailed that fundamental aspect. The enriched physics systems perpetuates experimentation, and the combination of good enemy A.I. and enhanced weather system creates new situations even when you are in similar positions, further enhancing your creativity and causing you to think on your toes....
I don't think Nintendo isn't doing this. It seems that 2K Sports made a decision to use smaller Switch cartridges instead of larger Switch cartridges. The game is only a 25GB download and could fit entirely on a 32GB cart, but for some reason it's requiring a download for a physical copy. This means that they didn't use the 32GB cart and instead opted for the 16GB or 8GB carts instead, likely to save on cost.
It'd still be the same developer if it was on Sony's platform you know.
How would that work though? You would need both accounts open at the same time to initiate trading, which you can only open one account at a time on the Switch to my knowledge.

They made a lot on the Wii and DS, but that money isn't endless. It costs a lot to set up a decent network infrastructure. Even Microsoft charges for online, and they have much more reserve money than Nintendo does.
Of the 12 games that have sold 30 million or more, seven of them are Nintendo titles. I understand what you are saying, but there are few games in general that have sold over 30 million or more.
