You can certainly see which month it was that the 3DS received the price drop.
Want to know something funny? The creators of the newest Assassins Creed actually cited BotW as an influence.

I don't view the landscape as bland or empty. There are just about as many towns/villages as Horizon: Zero Dawn, in addition to the dozen or so smaller camps in the form of horse stables, large amounts of flora, fauna, and wildlife which are all very interactable. There are enemy encampments, shrines, large divine beasts, etc.
It's no more barren than Horizon or Skyrim. The difference is that you are more alone in your journey for BOTW. Th...

Hypocriticism isn't a valid excuse for why you've continued to spread extreme distaste for this game since launch.
Personally, I'd say Zelda. I've sunk in more hours into that game than any other game this year. Mario Odyssey is incredible too though. I've collected almost 600 moons and I haven't even visited the Dark Side or Darker Sides yet.
So then it doesn't need a killer app, it just needs consistent games that are interesting. Just like the PS4 had that continued it's growth.
I'm not sure there was any killer app for the PS4 it's second year, aside from Bloodborne. It isn't like Nintendo has announced their whole line up for 2018 anyway. We didn't know about a new Mario until October 2016. Further still we didn't see much gameplay until January 2017. We didn't know about Arms at all until January 2017 and it released just six months later. It isn't like Nintendo can't keep secrets.
I think some of these games had terrible users scores due to controversial decisions such as Mass Effect 3's ending or DmC turning the protagonist into a young brown head kid.
It doesn't necessarily mean that they are bad games, it just means that at least one element of the game was absolutely hated by fans of the series. Sometimes its a bit more like politics than it is a review of the actual game.
@Khurg
Bethesda games regularly get great scores with poor performance. The Witcher 3 suffered from many framerate drops on Xbox One and PS4, but that game is universally lauded here on N4G. Look at The Last of Us (one of my personal favorites) with framerate drops regularly into the low 20's and sometimes in the teens just like BOTW. Also, "bad gameplay decisions" that's your subjective opinion. I personally enjoy the weapon breaking as it gives the game ...
I agree. The PS4's first year official sales were around 14 million I think. With the Switch at 7.6 million already and the holiday season approaching (not to mention the massive boost Mario gave them) I could see them at 12-13 million at the end of the calendar year with 15 million by the end of Switch's first rolling year.
"free pass on everything"
No it doesn't. The game is just a great experience for the majority of people who played/reviewed it. If you don't agree that's fine, but jesus these "free pass" comments are tiresome. There is no evidence that they would have ripped the game to shreds had it been a different IP.

128GB > 64GB
They aren't charging more though. Look at the speed ratings. The Switch branded cards have speed ratings similar to the Extreme Pro line of SD Cards, and they cost about the same.

I don't think it's that good of a game, but I do think that a sequel could do its premise justice.
"Nah, people haven't been waiting as much as the propaganda articles try to make you think they are. You're entitled to your opinion though, even if it is wrong."
Your opinion is no more correct than his.
Actually, they did make a lot more SNES Classics than NES Classics initially.
The NES Classic sold 2 million total. This was from November 2016 to April 2017 when they discontinued it. The SNES Classic sold 2 million units from just September to October, and they are still making them.
Basically Nintendo made as much SNES Classics at launch as there were NES Classics total.
Don't know why I'm getting disagree's for asking a question.
@slappy508
Thank you for your response! Honestly, I think your second example is more notable than anything.
Buying a Wii U for one game is not what I would recommend. I'd rather pay 360$ for a Switch + Zelda that will have future support than 260$ (or however much it costs) for a Wii U + Zelda with no future support.
