$115,710.
Nice.
It should be obvious. A bunch of holidays occur during the fourth quarter so that's when publishers schedule their games to release.
Well, not on most games, but on some games. Look at Boom Blox. The first month was dismal but as time went by, the game actually sold fairly well. Nearly a million copies sold, I think.
PS3 and 360 games tend to start off with very large sales then taper off over time. This may be why there are so many sequels and games built on established franchises. Some big games like Call of Duty 4 and Halo 3 may sell consistently over time because of their multiplayer aspect, but those are ...
It seems that Wii games start off slow in sales at launch then start picking up as time goes by. The sales curve goes upward instead of downward like PS3 and 360 games.
Wow, Mindboggle, I think you're the one talking crap. NO version of Modern Warfare 2 has dedicated servers and why would Sony ever lend servers to Activision?
omni_atlas, playing the game without paying is not retaliating. Playing the game still helps the publisher since you're spending your time playing their game and not others'.
If you really wanted to "retaliate," you would not play the game at all and tells others not to as well.
Throw in an infintive to make that biatch future tense.
It's $40 on GoGamer for Americans.
They can't split. Activision owns them.
The best they could do is leave and start their own company, but that would be risky and plus they're probably under some sort of agreement or contract at the moment.
I wouldn't say always -- Call of Duty 1 really rocked -- but Battlefield now is better than COD4/5/6.
Matchmaking wasn't invented this generation. Blizzard was one of the first to implement matchmaking into their games and I believe they did it with Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition back in 1999 (correct me if I'm wrong).
I'd just like to say that pirating does not help at all.
By pirating, you are still playing their game which is what they want. You will spend your time playing their game instead of other publishers' games. If you really wanted to protest, you would not play the game at all and spread as much negativity about the game as you could.
Not just dead on PC, the Call of Duty series is dead everywhere to me now.
I cannot support a publisher this consumer-unfriendly.
One of the NeoTokyo guys posted this in the IRC.

The "extra content" BioShock had on the PS3 was challenge maps, but I believe you had to pay for them... making them more like exclusive DLC rather than extra content.
Dragon Age is most reminiscent of the Baldur's Gate series, some of the greatest RPGs ever made.
I just noticed that the Digital Deluxe Edition is $65 on other digital distribution sites. That makes the Steam version an excellent deal, then.
My cousin plays Team Fortress 2 with a GeForce 4.
It doesn't take much to run Valve's games. That's what makes them so popular.
