4K assets are likely to come direct from the PC versions in most cases, so... I'm guessing not very hard? It only took one guy 48hours to get Forza 7 running with 4K assets if I recall correctly.
I agree, plus if keeping up to date with graphics is really important then the Pro and 1X can easily keep the graphics relevant for a few more years. I don't really feel the need to upgrade until true next gen comes out, because I'm still having just as much fun playing games in 720-1080p on my OG XB1. IMO, Making them pretty is trivial compared to the overall experience the games provide.

Between the, "Playground is probably making Fable 4." rumors and the statement that MS is hiring for an open-world RPG like Horizon: Zero Dawn, I'm hopeful that they are finally making a real open world Fable akin to Elder Scrolls. I just hope they ditch the pirates theme (especially since they have SoT) and get back to the themes of the original.
Going back to a time before the first Fable would be a good avenue to explore, IMO.

No disrespect here, Nyxus, but Sony does HAVE to come out with new hardware to adopt native 4K. What you're saying in your response is that they don't NEED to come out with new hardware to keep outselling MS (which I do agree with, BTW). The difference being that while you've pointed out that 4K isn't necessary to win a console generation, it is still going to become a standard which MS set with the launch of the 1X and AAA native 4K experiences.

Did you really believe that the One X would make Xbox outsell the PS4? If you did, then it's clear that you never paid attention to anything MS said (actually it's clear from every post you make). Thank you for not releasing a broken game. More devs should worry about this over meeting a deadline. First day owners of a game should not be used as beta testers unless they are aware they are purchasing an unfinished product.

Rainslacker, the One X could become a 1080P budget console for the 4K versions playable on the X's successor. They would no longer support Xbox One at that point, just scale between One X and the new console instead.

Deus Ex games are still some of my favorite games simply because of their "Blade Runner" feel, but throw CD Projekt RED at this type of environment and we're going to get something special for sure. It's hard not to be excited for more news on this!

I don't know for sure Slasaru, but I believe (IIRC) that games on consoles which are frame locked to 30FPS would need more work to change things like the frame buffer to get to 60FPS. Games with unlocked framerates can just scale up to 60 without much more that extra power. Maybe someone with programming experience like Rainslacker could elaborate, but it's beyond my scope to give any more detail.

Forza Horizon 3 is 1080p/30 so it seems impossible to get to 4K/60 out of it on the XB1X. That would require 8 times the pixels per second, but maybe a 1080p enhanced mode could get it there if Playground puts some serious effort into it.
You have some valid points like, "physics, A.I., destructible background objects, etc," causing problems with compatibility between X1 and the OG.
Remember this though; MS has a vastly different architecture in the 1X that cannot be fully exploited until they ditch the OG but that doesn't mean the have to go back on their word either.
