Good to see that the both the XB1 and PS4 OG versions still run at 900p. I had assumed that if Pro was at 1080p that OG would run at 720p or some other exotic resolution in between.
Downloading for free now with GWG. The other two were decent fun so I expect more of the same; Decent gameplay, lots of loot, tons of upgrade paths, and an average story. Oh yeah, and massive amounts of slaughter!
FYI, the studio made Disney Infinity... then changed their name from Studio GOBO Brighton to Electric Square.
Where did you hear that? It makes sense, with their experience with Disney Infinity. I was going to mention the possibility of Banjo Kazooie or Conker, but most any Rare IP would seem to fit in their wheelhouse.
The old adage, "Everything in moderation, nothing in excess." springs to mind. Heck, even too much water can kill you.
Yeah, I feel that way too, given how useless the Avatars are ATM. I have to assume that MS has plans to make them useful again, but who knows what they're thinking about it. Thanks for the apology, BTW. For what it's worth, I didn't mean to sound rude when I suggested that you didn't read the article but it sounds a bit condescending in retrospect... Sorry about that!
To answer your questions, Foxtrot: Yes, I read your comment. No, I didn't see you think to yourself that you would ignore it... posting in this thread is actually the opposite of ignoring the topic. Furthermore, there's no need to be condescending about my ability to read. I simply reiterated your point in my own words, then gave details explaining why I thought you shouldn't be upset with the idea. Okay, I'll try this one more time...
What doesn't ma...
I don't think you read the article...
This is like achievements but instead of Gamerscore you are rewarded with Avatar props. I agree with you about the usefulness of Avatars ATM. Unless MS has big plans for them in the future, I don't see the point of this Career system. It makes me curious to know what MS plans to do with them if they are currently revamping the models and implementing the career system for a feature no one uses anyways.
The loot crates are for Avatar props, not in game items. What type of person complains about getting rewarded with free Avatar props for playing a game a lot? Do you currently complain when you get rewarded with an achievement/trophy that shows others how you play games too? It's intrinsically the same thing.
It seems cool to me that if, for example, you play CoD and get Prestige that you have a unique Avatar prop to show others your progress just like a trophy/achie...
Yeah, the faded colors, the compass, the gold trigger, and the glowing skull really work well together.
Yeah, me too. I'm hoping that their more realistic styling means they'll make Avatars useful for more games because as it stands right now they are nearly pointless. Honestly, I haven't seen anyone's Avatar on my XB1 for years.
Red Dead had them for specific achievements as did several others so it seems to be an extension of the Avatar Awards some games had. This concept at least piques my interest in hearing more, so I guess we'll see what MS plans ...
They really could have made it useful alongside a controller, and I always imagined its potential in that regard. Lean to peek around corners. Silently send orders to troops with hand gestures. Head tracking to look into corners in Forza. As it turned out, I disliked the first Kinect so much that I never even hooked 2.0 up to my XB1.
You said it though; people hacked Kinect to do some amazing things for remote surgeries, optics for robotics, ghost hunting, etc. I hone...
Yeah, Alexis I remember that too. This seems to be the next step towards that goal but I suspect that being a smaller developer presents it's own challenges when considering making a full blown MMO done right.
Which 1st party "always online FPS games" have no story? I'm just curious because it seems to me like almost all of the MS exclusive games, regardless of genre, are story driven and most of their exclusives aren't even FPS.
I remember when the first one released that they were planning on multiplayer all along. I'm just surprised at how long it's taken to get this one out. SoD1 was amazing in many ways, so I have high expectations for this one too, but I already know I'm going to love this one from what I've seen. Can't wait!
Well, to be fair, MS put out a machine that can easily claim the most powerful console already which they said they were going to do. Now MS has said they are shifting their focus to their gaming division. I believe that they will because they spoke the truth about the XB1X. Before I move on...
To further your point, why wouldn't MS have invested in more games development sooner? Studio acquisition should have more of a priority than paying other devs to make exclus...
Well said, Kribwalker, 1X has way more going on than just resolution as deadfrag tries to insinuate. I'm not sure why he needs to call fans of the Xbox names and stray off topic with things like game selection though, when the point of the article is how much better the games look on the XB1X.
Deadfrag, to rebut your off topic point, what actually matters is whether the games on the console you own are interesting enough to you to be happy with it and while more choice...
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense now that I think about it. DF is more about sensationalism in order to generate clicks, and the power advantage the OG PS4 has over the OG XB1 just made them appear to be biased against MS. The fact that MS gave the One X debut to DF is a clear indication that DF is not as biased as many believe. Well said, LoveSpuds!
I'll bring the Tic-Tacs!
I suppose, I'm just going by the article which doesn't mention dynamic resolution.
