XB1 will level the playing field as PS4 advances its api. PS4 has a simple, powerful machine with a good api. XB1 has to rely on specific, detailed programming to get maximum performance that takes time to learn, once DX12 comes out. In the long run it's PS4's "Corvette" to XB1's "Lotus Exige." Xbox one has a faster cpu and better cpu memory for true parallel processing.
Ps4 has a faster gpu and some better memory for graphics, but no eSRAM.
Both PS4 and Xbox one are hsa compliant.
I think you missed the part where Wardell admits the PS4 gpu is better. Wardell then Xbox one has a memory(presumably the low latency eSRAM) advantage.
Xbox One also has more ways to move data around, which means less bottlenecks. GDDR 5 is not used in cpus because it is slower at tasks related to cpu functions and its cpu is faster. Xbox One is hsa compliant and DX12 will still improve the system by some margin as well.

True, but Nvidia has been making a lot of mistakes lately that are tarnishing its reputation. AMD has guaranteed sales in consoles so things could turn around pretty fast if Nvidia continues to piss off PC owners with things like over-promised specs and removing overclocking from existing cards.
It was mildly informative but I was hoping to hear more about the capabilities of the consoles respective to their differences in design and execution. Oh well, gdc is just a few weeks away.
It's amazing how fast the new consoles are selling compared to last gen within the first year of sales. It's great to see Sony maintaining sales and Microsoft gaining momentum after such a rough start. I can't wait to see how software changes as we move deeper into the generation and the true potential of these machines are realized!
