Yeah, you definitely need 3 sets of controls(move, aim, look) for VR to really work. The headset shouldn't replace any functions of gameplay mechanics.
Edit:
If you're playing on a keyboard, how will you know what keys you're hitting if you can't see them?
Lol. He just dropped his secret sauce on the floor!
This still may help XB1 orchestrate the 2 command processors in the GPU as well as the DMEs though, so it could help a bit anyways.
16tb per external drive vs. 2tb internal? Yeah, it's not even close.
Riccitielo said Sony made the only choice they could because they were broke. You can't gamble when you have no money, and when you do gamble you don't always win. Sony played it safe and it worked wonders, but MS hasn't laid all the cards on the table yet either. I'm not saying MS has a chance be number one this gen but I think sales on a per month basis will be very close within the next few years.
Epic said that they were done with engines with Unreal 4. Things could change, but Unreal 5 seems unlikely anytime soon, if at all.
Win10/DX12/games are most likely. Then an unlikely price drop. Probably a redesign next year.
Different kettle. Same fish.
The headline mkes it seem like they're hiring AI, not programmers, lol.
MS has way too much to both announce and go into detail about everything just at E3. I suspect that only the big guns get center stage at E3 and the rest get more detail at Gamescom.
Lol. Is it really that great that the console you play on is winning? Both consoles are still successful compared to their predecessors. Sony definitely needed this boost to become profitable again, as a company, so I'm glad they've gotten their groove back. Seriously though, you guys are dancing in the streets like it's Cinco de Mayo or something...
I heard something big from Epic is going to be shown at E3.
Why wouldn't they be working on dlc instead of talking about a sequel? It sounds like another one of those, "We know it isn't as good as we hyped it up to be, so we'll try to make it right in the sequel." games on our hands.
@thorstein
What are you talking about? My whole post is against the notion of censorship. People are always entitled to their opinions, but should also be tolerant (and respectful) of others whose opinions differ from their own. Agree to disagree.
What will Win 10 bring to XB1? DX12.
For those interested in a little DX12 XB1 info, look at the sidebar on the right of this opinion piece. There's a Recent Post from May 1st with a great video to watch at the end. It puts all of the Microsoft PR in perspective very well. I'd link it but I can't copy/paste on XB1.
@Timesplitter
I don't agree with the topic of the game, but if we interfere with freedom of speech and ban it, then we end up banning everything. Do we ban Mortal Kombat because old people don't like it? How about porn? Should polygamy be illegal if all parties involved consent? We have a right to our opinions but not to interfere with the opinions of others.
That's where fanboys are wrong when they jump into the topics of "the other side&...
Look at what happens to a community like N4G when fanboy hatred is allowed to propogate in an uncontrolled way. It always starts with one, then before you know it everyone else with that viewpoint jumps on the hate train too.
Edit:
The game has a right to exist, as any opinion does, but if you don't agree with it don't support it.
Are you really that ignorant and opinionated? If you'd bothered to read the article you'd know that the images that Hololens produces are completely opaque. That means, like VR, you can't see the outside world if the whole screen is used. Also, if you weren't a fanboy, you'd realize that Kinect is a cheap Xbox accessory whereas Hololens is a portable computer. It is standalone product that will probably cost $1000 when it launches and it is built for business and entertai...
No one who knows what Hololens is thought it would be cheap. It's as powerful as a lot of laptops and is self contained in a wireless headset. Since it runs on Windows, at the very least you could stream any XB1 game/app onto it. If a dev chooses to, they could have Hololens enhance the game as well.
Commercially, Hololens starts out as a high end device better suited to business applications. Home use wiill be more limited until prices come down in a few years.
So if it's expensive, business applications pave the way for initial sales and gaming applications filter in more as they cost reduce the tech.
On a side note:
Since Hololens can block out the outside world entirely, it is actually both AR and VR in one package. Also, with the custom HPU it is far more advanced than anything else going to market. I need to see reviews on this tech first, but it sounds awesome.
They left off with a failing franchise that tried to use a skateboard peripheral to make things better. Tony Hawk 2x was the best in the series by far.
