Technically, those are all Star Wars Battlefront details that I mentioned. Their cameras didn't capture any of those, so in a roundabout way it is relevant to this article. If you don't mind a game that ends up like a supermodel with a labotomy, so be it.
I don't play games just because they look pretty. I feel like I did after watching George Lucas bastardize the original trilogy with "pretty" prequels that forgot about what made the originals great.
I'm glad you mentioned this... "NSA style intruder", lol.
You know what they didn't capture with their cameras?
A campaign, 32 vs. 32 multiplayer with bots, over 30 maps on 16 planets from all 6 episodes, about 4 dozen different characters to play as, space battles, driveable AT-ATs or anything else that made Battlefront 2 great. Matter of fact, the only thing it will have more of is premium DLC. But hey, at least it will look pretty!
Colored by the Cloud!
Streaming does not require storage. If you had to store the data it would be called downloading. Also, you don't stream from your hard drive. You remotely access the information from another source.
Then you need a new Xbox One, lol!
Okay. I just read the article. Can someone here help out with this math problem? Where did they get 330% from?
I have 1.5 million draw calls. It gets increased to 8.5 million with DX12.
Isn't 8.5 ÷ 1.5 around 566%? Am I missing something here?
A draw call affects the complexity of a given scene, including things like geometry and texturing. More texture layers applied to the same surface increase the number of draw calls, resulting in a more detailed image. 330% more draw calls, however, does not make the whole system 330% more powerful.
Here's a hypothesis. DX12 can use the cores in parallel. 2 cores is 3.5ghz so if they can be told to work together at the same task, they may be able to emulate the function of one core from 360. I don't know enough about this subject to be sure if this is even possible.
XBL Platinum: $5 extra per month to play any Xbox or 360 game you own, processed and streamed from the cloud as long as the disc is in the machine.
Plus, streaming game rentals to play games you don't own from any generation could be implemented at that point too.
360 has 9.6ghz across 3 cores(1 of those was used primarily for audio), while XB1 has 14ghz across 8 cores and a dedicated audio chip. 360 BC might be pssile, but the emulators do have to soak up some of the CPU bandwidth.
PS3 has 22.4ghz across 7 cores, versus 12.8ghz in the 8 cores of the PS4 CPU. It's not possible in this instance to run PS3 BC on PS4.
Touché.
They should be questioning what Dice is doing to the series. Let's compare features...
SW:BF2 - Battlefront 2015
33 maps on 16 planets - 12 maps on 4 planets
Original and Prequel levels - Original only
32 vs 32 - 20 vs 20 (sometimes less)
51 playable infantry units - 2 classes, loadouts only
37 driveable vehicles - Only a few seen so far, No AT-AT
Campaign - None
Galactic Conquest - Nope
Bots - Only...
Uncharted ripped off Tomb Raider first, lol.
Do you like Xbox?
Do you like white?
Do you like Halo?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions...
You got me to thinking about BluRay's launch and how right now it doesn't support 4k due to data limitations. Anyways, I remembered a Holographic Media Disc was set to debut about a year after BluRay as a computer format. It was to start at 200GB and theoretically end around 8-10TB. Sony bought the company and shut it down to avoid competition. I think sometimes they try too hard to be the standard - Betamax, Minidisc, Memory Pro, ATRAC, etc. If it weren't for the BluRay player ...
Fact: If you weren't so ignorant I wouldn't have to elaborate.
Win 10 is required for DX12. DX12 is the API the system was designed to run. Neither are on XB1 yet. Sony has had a DX12 equivalent API since launch, hence the difference in performance.
The eSRAM is getting a 15% boost(that means 230gb/sec) via its own new API as well, which also automatically assigns tasks to ensure devs are taking advantage of the memory. Right now most devs are using...
For the cost of a charge cable I got 4 AA's that last about 40-60 hours per set and in about 15 seconds I have another 40-60 hours of wireless gameplay. I think playing with a wired controller is more outdated than a having a set of replaceable batteries.
Rotflmao! Ubi has a horrible business model!!!
As an Xbox fan, I say they should follow Sony. Take risks on new IP, build a stable of AAA studios, and focus on a wide range of genres. It seems like Phil knows this already. Personally, I may not care for Sony as a company but I respect the Playstation brand and what it brings to gaming in the industry as a whole.
The "shear" childishness of some people on this site amazes me (See what I did there?).
You don't know what irony is? The irony here is telling someone to grow up while acting like a child. Irony is also posting about seeing nothing but trolls and pr men on this site while trolling it yourself.
You're new here, so let me give you some advice. Adults express a difference of opinion by being civilized. Trolls act like children who ignore the...
