Yeah, I keep hearing that Sony' api(based off of Mantle) is already closer to the metal than even Vulkan, which is why they don't intend to adopt either Mantle or Vulkan as an api for PS4 development.

1600% is for draw calls, which dictate scene complexity. You're the only one here talking FPS, as well as the only one to mention CGI. The thing that is important is that the increase is real, which means that the processing power saved on draw calls can be used for other things, so games WILL look marginally better overall.
No one expects to be playing games that resemble Avatar.
In theory, even if Xbox sees just 10% of the improvements that benchmarks have shown, that's still upwards of 160% increase. There's no contradiction there with Phil's statements either.

What we need is a chance to stop seeing trolls commenting in Xbox threads... very stupid problem. We know the XB1 was designed for the Win 10 OS which is coming soon, the system has more CPU power than PS4, and you can add a better quality, higher capacity, cheaper drive(or more) externally than internally already.

Sadly, the presentation seemed to suggest the destruction is for multiplayer only. I'd think it would be hard to deliver 20 consoles worth of extra power to every single Crackdown owner playing SP at this point.
