Yes, DX11 on XB1 is multicore, but all of the CPU cores bottleneck into one core that talks to the GPU. DX12, Mantle, Vulkan, and PS4's API are built to allow all cores direct access to the GPU.
XB1 will see a boost with DX12. Phil never says NO performance gain.
Yeah, lol. What are they selling us in December then?
I want to see an expensive game of baseball being played on a real field with a bunch of hololens instead of a real ball. Or an app that makes everyone you see look like zombies. Or where other people you're playing with on hololens could be a target on the streets in a crazy game of stalker tag... like larping Watchdogs.
That's "the plain, the plain" truth!
Halo 5 - best.
COD - most.
I would assume that if Win10 is up to 50% faster then there are more resources freed up for gaming too. It's a Win-win situation!
Agreed. Episodes 1-3 were "authentic and epic" too, lol. This game is not worthy of the Battlefront name, and on that point alone it sucks.
Let me give two other examples:
•Resident Evil 4 was a horrible RE. It had no zombies, no STARS, no Umbrella, no Whesker, minimal puzzles, no survival horror. It was Leon's quest to save the President's daughter.
•Ubi bought the rights to Far Cry and Far Cry 2 had no Jack Carver, no mutants, and due to it...
I don't care that much about patched DX12 games. While any boost is welcome, it's the native engines that will show the real capabilities of DX12 on hardware(new pc cards, XB1) designed to run it properly.
Sony went with the cell because it was good at streaming which is what BluRay movies, not most games, required. Since Sony was involved in a format war they built the system to play movies first and games second. It worked! Sony lost market share compared to PS2, but gained revenue from every Blu Ray disc and player sold to the entire world.
It's sad that Sony's greed caused them to take advantage of Playstation loyalists by selling them short on games technology in o...
For all of the numbers being thrown around here, people seem to forget that only one console can do BC and HEVC processing. Both were deemed impossible tasks by numerous mainstream tech sites. Where does this power come from then? Apparently, not from anywhere that's been factored into the 1.3tf...
Why do people forget that Sony got caught, by You Tube, falsifying 850 MILLION views to "create interest" in their music?
The red cross with the white background is a symbol of the medical community. They wanted royalties for any game using its likeness, so they created the problem. Bungie turned to regenerating health to avoid paying out. It was only natural that most others followed suit.
I'm just saying that Halo being this popular is going to dig into COD's sales. Interest in COD appears to be waning.
Ain't that a kick in the COD? I'm sure Halo 5 will move consoles too.
I wonder what the story would be aboot, eh?
Just do 2-3 GTA IV size cities, and load between them to keep them separate. Like New York and London.
It's pretty safe to assume that a 5 and 6 are coming. I mean, it's new characters in a new story arc so 4 is likely to be a mirror of 1 in terms of story development/pacing.
•PS4 has 8 ACEs vs XB1 with only 2.
•XB1 has 4 command processors vs PS4 with only 1.
•While PS4's ACEs are stuck waiting for commands, MS will keep theirs happily fed.
Who Cares? Seriously, PS4 has many bottlenecks that will show MORE as the system ages. XB1 hasn't even gotten to use a proper API yet. Async is only one of many features PS4's API has that XB1 didn't at launch but I was staying on topic.
@sync

N4G has had those for years.
They are limiting what they're putting in the game in order to have some classic elements to reintroduce into sequels. How is that taking the time to get it right? Sounds more like capitalize on the namesake with a rushed out product full of more eyecandy than gameplay, then fix it in the sequel...
