MS has said that the real world performance of the ESRAM, running game code, is about 133GB/sec. Add that to the 68GB/sec of the DDR3 and you get 198GB/sec of real world performance.
Since ESRAM is small and complicated, MS introduced the Move engines which can feed any part of the system (and offer lossless compression which is great for Tiled Resources AND small memory pools) with information at an additional 26gb/sec (for all four total), independent of the ram in the s...
People always leave it out like ESRAM does nothing for the system. DDR3 had 68GB/sec, while the ESRAM does a full 109GB/sec in each direction simultaneously.
Couldn't see spending $100 for a 2 TB drive, when I just got a 6TB Western Digital for $145. It looks an awful lot like the XB1 too, but I don't ever see it because it sits behind my console.
You'll eat those words come June 11th. MS has contradicted the notion of compromise already.
I just wanted to ask, Why O Why, what's wrong with being interested in an RTS, MMO, open world survival horror, and a TPS? Not enough variety, or not meeting your subjective ideas about quality?
And nobody is arguing against Sony's output. Matter of fact, I even concede that Sony wins on output alone in my original post.
No, I didn't, Why O Why. Quality can be subjective because it's a matter of personal tastes when it comes to liking art(unless it's actually a broken game like Just Cause 3). When I said, "If you want to talk about games I enjoy playing...", I was talking subjectively about quality. MS has better quality games for my tastes in gaming. But not for most people. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions of what is quality when it comes to art.
Yeah, me too. I also like how U Play works, rewarding you with currency to unlock goodies in addition to achievements.
Kingthrash, you sound like a 3rd grader... "He started it!" Lol, It's not like it's new or like Sony hasn't done trash talking about MS before. Genesis does what Nintendon't ring a bell? Some people were die hard Sega fans that hated Nintendo. They liked Sega exclusives and not Nintendo's, but Nintendo was always vastly more popular just like Sony is today. MS is in the same boat as Sega, with the exception of the possibility of going bankrupt.

Sorry Digital Raptor, I misunderstood what you're saying.
I knew that Rainbow Six:Siege was the first to use checkerboarding. If you want to be technical, Cerny's patent simply HW accelerates checkerboarding. It's an ingenious patent, since HW acceleration is extremely efficient in one particular area and frees up resources for the console to worry about other things.
Exclusive HW acceleration also exists in the XB1 and Scorpio, for Tiled Re...
He has patented a version of checkerboarding for the Pro, so I suppose you could say he perfected it.
Cerny didn't invent checkerboarding.
Looks like it's only Halo 5 though, because Bonnie Ross said at the D.I.C.E. conference, "For any FPS, we will always have split screen support going forwards." I saw it in a Game Informer article and her specific wording suggested to me that 343 is quite possibly working on a new IP as well. Why would she specifically say, "...ANY FPS...", when 343 only makes Halo? I guess we'll find out come E3 if my hunch is right!
The qualities of the original were fantastic, and I agree that tis game's got me excited!
I already knew you guys wouldn't listen when I posted, and your subsequent posts only prove that point. I can't even count how many times in everyone's rebuttals that what I say has either been taken out of context or flat out ignored. I'm not getting caught up in your pissing contests anymore, like I said, so again I say believe what you want. I don't see your evidence/ignorance as convincing enough to persuade me to change my mind yet. Thanks for all the stupid perso...
Aenea, I see what you're saying about how not all games with Pro patches will automatically have Scorpio support too. I would think that most probably will, personally, but who really knows until Scorpio releases.
To answer your question to Showan about 4K assets: Native 4K is specifically related to the frame buffer only. The assets are the textures applied to the surfaces of objects. A prime example is the Fallout 4K texture pack which came in at a whopping 58GB f...
Aenea, I think what Moldy is saying is if all of the 3rd party games that are currently enhanced for Pro are also enhanced for Scorpio at launch, then Scorpio would be launching with more compatibility than Pro launched with. The relative number of mid-gen compatible games for both consoles should be quite similar overall though.
Rough Ryder.
I've always maintained that power doesn't matter. OG Xbox was 2.5 times more powerful than PS2, but if you go back and try to play either one they both look just as bad. I don't play games for graphics, but because I like to play games, but believe what you want about me and my opinions. I made the point because in every single article about multiplats everyone here always makes a big deal out of resolution differences, and now those people are saying the exact opposite.
Wrong. The Pro was a hasty reaction to the internal MS leaks that Scorpio was in developpment, just like the PS4 featuring 8GB of memory was a result of internal leaks at MS. Sony has moles placed in the MS camp, like it or not, as evidenced by the XB1 prototype that was left out on purpose by MS in order to catch them. You know, the one that was shipped out by mistake to that kid before XB1 launched? That's why the Pro is literally a second GPU duct taped to the first one with a few ...
A more logical guess is that MS doesn't need to dedicate space to something silly like a concert hall playing live orchestrations.
