Really fun game on the iPad and while there isn't quite as much content as PC/consoles it is ONLY 59p!!
EA have a Christmas sale on so you can also grab Shift, Scrabble, Red Alert, Sim City Deluxe, Reckless Racing, Mirrors Edge for 50p
They need to build in an AutoFail patch remover so that after 5 freezes, host fails the patch is just removed automatically.
(Then onto plan B, C, D, E..........)
Gave it a try but so far I'm getting plenty of lost connections and even a total PS3 freeze halfway through a game.
I have a standard Slim 320GB and my track load times seem to sit in the middle between their SSD and HDD times.
Maybe they should have been more thorough with their test approach and included a fast 7200rpm 320GB drive (Seagate Momentus 7200.4 / WD Scorpio Black) and one of the latest with flash/Hybrid HDD's.
You don't watercool??? mine never leaves the bath lol
I suspect it has a lot to do with the current PS3 exclusive and the bugs, lower graphics quality and missing features found in the PS3 Black Ops version reported by existing players.
Steam may be competitive and offer lots of sales but it's virtually for USA only i.e just purchased R.U.S.E retail product at £8.99 or I could buy it off Steam for £29.99 - the highest price out there by a huge margin. Black Ops £39.99 (I paid £26 for the PS3 version!) and even the previous version is £39.99 and the overpriced list just keeps going.
I'll stick to just buying digital software on the iPhone and iPad which is typically 59p per ga...
I thought the Joker was found out be be really a kilrathi in drag so banished from any further Batman activities.
The problem is there is a small populous of addicts for all sorts of subjects but yet again, for the sake of synthetic journalism, everybody must be tarred with the same brush....
We all know the real route cause is the wireless controller frequencies upsetting the brain (you would think each controller would come with a health warning about putting them to your ear!).
While there's obvious differences in graphics detail, lighting effects what I found stood out was the huge differences in audio effects with the Ferrari in GT5 having that deep throaty multi-frequency/channel sound (and in 5.1 if you are using the appropriate kit).
What marketing idiot would kill their next generation of hardware by giving a name that says "I'm out of date at launch". 720 says 720p which is what current gaming consoles aim for while the next generation will standardise at 1080p.
Backwards compatibility is also much more likely due to the nature of using PC components. Both the Xbox and PS3 just need faster variants of their current CPU's and a more current GPU to handle higher graphics, resolution and...
GT5 extras like daft festive vehicles (snowmobiles, Santa sleigh, snow plough etc), dynamic theme etc would get me into Plus.
I'm really surprised there's no Home GT5 section launched with the game - though I'm still amazed there was no Warhawk room for UK/EU.
Atari Pole Position most likely started the racing craze while Geoff Crammond took F1 racing to new realism levels.
The writer probably has limited experience of all the racing games that have been available and it would have been more logical to define racing category & formats.
It amazes me that no one or reviewer congratulated PD for developing such an amazing DSLR emulating photo capture system included in a game. This must be a world 1st for any format whether PS3, 360 or PC!
There's some really unusual features in the game i.e. you can go to a pretty 3D location like a village. Scroll around all over the place, then, (optionally),place one of your cars where you want and take photos.
Now when I mean photos we're not talking press X to take a snapshot, we're talking all the features of a DSLR camera at 1920x1080 - aperture, lenses (incl. tilt n shift), F stop, exposure, effects etc etc - quite amazing.
Optional and you can select how much to install too (in utilities menu).
HDD's are faster than the Blu-Ray or DVD so it's a good option - it's also a game with huge amounts of content so a lot of data to move around.
Now if there were long wait times every time you ran the game that would soon become frustrating but it's just a one off.
I agree in part as yet again the muliplayer side is nearly dead yet it's only a year old title. Most of the issues are not with the content rather the the flaws in the host system.
Compare that to an old PC multiplayer game like Unreal Tournament - still has plenty of players, lots of user content - and 11 yrars old.
There are plenty more old titles still very popular too.
I can see your logic but it was the other way round.
There were more quality games being pushed out as there were more publishers and programmers all putting out their own creative ideas.
The biggest difference today is there are more gamers.
Keep going back :) Atari 800 (30yrs ago) big disk games (i.e. Ultima series)averaged $50-ish too.
The main difference though was the packaging - today it's a disc with a tiny printed leaflet of very basic instructions while it used to be story books, detailed instructions and hints, often with extras like cloth maps, bit n bobs etc.
While PC prices have jumped up over the last few years it's escalated even further with Steam that often charge full ...
Anybody remember all the AF and AA cheats Nvidia used in an attempt to beat ATI's 9700Pro
"They indicate that lower quality anisotropic filtering is used in actual games, but higher quality anisotropic filtering is displayed when the AF Tester tool is detected and run" I bet Nvidia wish they'd thought of that one!
Even today I'm reminded of NV AA cheats when playing on the PS3 and blurvision AA is used.
But at the heart of the...
For Vista we got a GAMES MENU.... upgrading to Win7 and they completely messed it up.
So it sounds like the GAMES menu is going to be back working again for Win 8 lol
