Look, there is a reason this is was only released in JAPAN. This stuff is more in the culture of gaming than it is here in the US.
I thought the commercial was funny, but if the industry is indeed trying to branch out and capture more female gamers, then game developers need to grow up just a bit.
Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are good examples (well from what I've seen in the pics). There are two women main characters, but none have out of control assets, and lo...
Wow so this kid started gaming in 1997 or so?
That list is really weak.
Final Fantasy 6
Chrono Trigger
Then I guess Final Fantasy VII
This is a really bad list.
Secret of Evermore is not even close to Secret of Mana.
No FFVI? No Chrono Trigger? No Breath of Fire?
No FFV? No FF? No Dragon Warrior?
Yeah, epic fail list.
Yes I like hearing the opinion of a what seems to be a 20 year old kid.
My guess is probably Uncharted 2 and GOW III.
This is just a BS article. What makes a great game is what you think makes a great game.
If someone loves RPG's, chances are they are looking for something different in games than someone who only plays Call of Duty Multiplayer.
I for, for one, am a huge fan of story driven games that try and show me something different. Thus, I gravitate to RPG's. Others love the Halo types...thats cool. It's just not for me, nor would I tell them what they love is wrong.
...
This game is closer to an 7.5 or 8. I only own a Ps3 so don't call me a fanboy.
The game is fun multiplayer, but it can get old quick if the battle rages on for over 30 minutes. Of course this is assuming you can even get a game.
As for the single player...specifically the level Deep Fried, I cannot beat due to the retardness of the AI. It ends up just being a stalemate in the middle of the map. If there were some way to be able to give orders in the single play...
He does make one good point.
You can get into those stalemate situations.
Hopefully a patch can be created in the single player game that can allow for some type of overall order you can give to your units. The stalemate thing is really annoying.
As for the online, I caught up with a good team and we wrecked shop.
Halo is one of those games that is alot like FFVII. It isin't the absolutely most innovative game to date, but it got alot of publicity and is very good. (Is it a masterpiece, either of them, then that is up to debate).
Halo also is a game that was at the right place at the right time (Much LIke FFVII).
Love or hate the game. It is what it is and because of its massive popularity it is a corner stone of gaming.
Chrono Trigger, but if it fails I will be sad.
Legacy of Kain...
Xenogears. (not Xenosaga)
When I first read this headline I thought Legacy of Kain. Excellent
To the poster above about Chrono Trigger...sadly I don't think there is a developer out there now that can match the quality of that masterpiece. I would like to see a well done remake...perhaps in the Valkeria are style.
Rygar is being remade...I actually beat the original one...Once...it was probably my biggest victory in gaming...Ever.
I guess this isin't a remake, but I would...
I have never met someone who has gotten passed the 3rd level.
Those walls are unbelievable.
It is still remembered because those games harken back to the days when games were actually hard and you had to have skill to beat them. Beat'em Ups, RPG's and even platformers were all more difficult on the NES.
If it is Braid, I will buy it on PSN.
Im not going to get my hopes up about any of this being good, but I sure wouldn't mind a version on PSN.
Nice to see such an assertive list from somone who had never played a video game before 2000.
That's not a horrible list. Might rearrange the order, but most of the games on there deserve to be on there. (With the excpetion of Last Remnant)
There is no question Chrono Trigger and FFVI are two of the best RPG's or even video games of all time. I really liked Secret of Mana as well, but I must concede that Chrono Trigger and FFVI are more epic in scope and done with just a bit more touch.
Chrono Cross is a good game, but not the masterpiece Chrono Trigger is.
There are only a few developers that could even challenge the ability of SquareSoft to make RPG's. As much as I would love to see a game like Chrono Trigger again, sadly, I doubt this will happen.
I can't believe some people care so much about this.
Its hard to care after SO LONG.
I'll pick up Broken Steel and Point Lookout.
