And further, it wasn't actually "Rockstar Games" that developed RDR. It was Rockstar San Diego.
Its and independent studio from Rockstar...used to be Angel Studios....they developed Read Dead Revolver.
So, it was actually a sequal...not a new IP...and it wasn't from the same guys who did GTA4. (Though undoubtly guided).
So to the article...do some research.
London. We have enough "futuristic" games.
Yes, gameplay we need to see.
Let be honest, the gameplay in Oblivion was pretty bad.
Granted it was 5 years ago, but still.
Want.Skyrim
My opinion at the end of the turorial is that the game is worth 40 bucks...there are some great things, and some not so great.
If you need an RPG to keep you until DA:2, then this one will do the trick.
So they ripped off Joystick's approach?
Throw in a few towns, make the story dark (and can follow it), then you know...hey...Ill give it a shot.
Neir had a mature (and good) story line, good voice acting, sub-par graphics, some quirky gameplay, overall japanese crazy, and the quite possibly the best soundtrack ever for a video game. At least in the running as the best.
Neir is growing into a cult favorite in some areas. For 15 bucks, its worth a purchase.
So please, don't compare the games just yet.
Same here.
When I'm not doing anything at home for a few hours, in goes a game.
There needs to be a level inbetween Friday night gamer and Hardcore.
Maybe, the "Hobbiest" Gamer.
That would be me.
Wow glad to hear it is worthy title to tide me over till DA:2. Sounds by all accounts that it is.
I honestly think that if they dropped some of the OVER THE EFFING TOP ANIME characters it would go along way.
Remember Demon's Souls is a JRPG (just not turned based)...
If they tried a gritter RPG without the bonkers anime crap with a decent battle system (I mean gawd, Id put up with a ATB system again..if it meant the above)...the game would sell alot of copies.
Just imagine FFVI re-invisioned in a gritty realism. Good gracious....
Graphically FFXIII was excellent. There was alot of polish.
Neir is a strange game that fans of quirky RPG's will fall in love with. It got pounded in reviews, but for 10-15 bucks...Pick it up.
Should be fun game to play around with. ANY improvement to the battle system for the consoles (Yes, PC version is superiour we know this) will be welcomed and be alot of fun.
This really is a love/hate game. The reviews vary wildly. I'll attempt to hold out till DA:2, but I probably wont.
What platform?
I hear PC is alot better than console.
How is the combat? Some say its pretty clunky.
Reviews for this thing are all over the place.
I need an RPG to tide me over till DA:2, is this the one?
Ha, fair point.
I actually liked the art direction and the music was pretty good. The world was vibrant...you just coudn't explore it. Gran Pulse the exception, and easily the best part of the game.
I don't mind Lightning as a lead if they give her some more depth...the others can have a seat.
The battles weren't BAD once they gave you the reigns at hour 15 or something like that.
You know, if they added a few towns...toned down the linearity, and gives a story we can actually follow along. it could be a good game.
Puts some towns in it...give it some exploration and a story line that people can actually follow and hey...I'll give it a shot.
As I do enjoy Me2...it BARELY passes the RPG test. Stats are largely useless. I can't tell you one stat I have in that game. You upgrade on the blind, and there is no real difference in gameplay.
That said, I always enjoy a good Bioware story. And the gameplay IS fun.
Call me a traditionalist but I am a fan of the silent protagonist. I like the characters to take mainstage and the world to revolve around the player. Games like Me2 and even Red D...
