The game was about balance, and it was perfect.
Not hard so much as you had to think through each encounter....Truly the definition of an ACTION RPG. Not just a hack and slash with rpg elements.
My favorite game of the decade.
If this game is half as good...Count me in.
How can you not list Terra's Theme?
Neir has maybe the best overall soundtrack I've ever heard. I was skeptical about the vocals...I was wrong. Incredible.
Im not going to like...I know there are some faults with this game...but the complexity and depth keep me involved.
Im getting a total kick out of it...Even with the campy voice acting.
To get it out of the way...yes the voice acting is a bit rough (but if you enjoy some "B" moive dialog then you may like it...I do).
It is a refreshingly complicated wRPG. The lands are huge and you can explore. Everything can be broken down and built...Magic, Alchamy..Metalwork...All of it can be changed and messed with.
Atmosphere is great...
If you aren't a fan of wRPG's and only like technical smooth running beast...
I'm also getting a kick out of this game.
A great way to tide me over till DA:2.
Its charming in a "B" Movie kinda way.
The trailer looked sweet. If this bad boy has some RPG elements to it...im VERY interested.
Ha, I have my opened copy if he wants it. Has my playthroughs on it too...better deal than that
With the exception of the hammer heard missions (gawd those were irritating in general), I found none of the issues this guy had with the game.
Overall, its very light on true to form RPG elements, but I didin't care. I had a blast with the game, clocked in 34 hours on my first play through...
For RPG's Ill pick up DA:2, and Im actually getting a kick out of Two Worlds 2.
Im going to let SquareEnix fool me again.
I can't help it. Every game I pick up I want it to be the next ChronoTrigger FFVI, Im always dissapointed in some way, but I still do it.
DAMN YOU SQUAREENIX...DAMN YOU.
Its not worth 60 bucks (unless you just need some RPG-ness to tide you over till Dragon Age 2 comes out.
Im about 4 hours in and Im getting a kick out of it. Its not perfect, but the depth of some of the things you can do....create magic...upgrade weapons with materials you break down from other weapons...The charm of a "B-Movie"...it is entertaining.
Haven't even touched the multi-player, but I hear its fun.
I thought the ending was fantastic (and completely predictable).
I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with westerns and in particularly the 1960's anti-hero (think Easy Rider, Cool Hand Luke), but John HAD to die.
John Marston was a page right out of that era of movies playbook.
Further, if you did the I know You quests, you would know that the man is the devil. Westerns tend to foreshadow like this alot.
...
Its obvious from the review that the reviewer didn't play past the tutorial.
Just got done with the tutorial...(almost 2 hours).
I can't pass judgment, but Im willing to keep on playing...So far...Im liking it.
Bioware does do epic pretty well.
I dislike the speaking protagonist though...
Gameplay is great...story is great...Combat is great...
BTW, have any of yall seen The Cursed Crusade trailer? That game looks like it has some promise.
Could be an interesting title...Atlus usually publishes some very niche but very excellent titles.
Lightning really is a good character model.
Add a few towns, a darker story (that we can actually follow), and hey...you got a purchase from me.
So you are saying you want more hardcore in your games?
Join the club...we are a small yet dedicated group.
I don't care if this is multi-plat or not...and goodness...why should anybody?
If FromSoftware can keep the BALANCE of the game intact without Sony Japan helping (and they did help on some of the technical issues, but the concept was all FromSoftware), then us gamers who like a real challenge are in for a great game! Better than Demon's Souls? Don't know...haven't played it...But I like what Im hearing so far about the seamless world and exploration... <...
