You see the "Prepare to Die" I think is more clever marketing than we think.
My bet is that the story is focused on lifting the curse and allowing you to die.
Thus, it captures the spirit of the game in "gamer speak" (ie dying), but captures what the object of the game is...to lift the curse and die.
My front-runner for GOTY as well.
SNES had a charm to it that has not been matched by any other console.
Perhaps as gaming was in its wide-eyed 11 year old youth (thinking NES starting it after it almost died), so were many gamers.
It holds a special place.
Super Mario World
FFVI
Chrono Trigger
Secret of Mana
F-Zero
Star Fox
Donkey Kong Country
All just fantastic games.
Well, I think it looks fun.
Perhaps not as wicked as Demon/Dark Souls, but a fun fantasy romp with some tactical gameplay.
I liked Ash on the iphone as well.
Very throw back.
My question is if it plays like AC (hate the combat), or like Demons Souls. Great combat.
It is a rite of passage for any Demon's Souls player to get owned by the red-eyed knight.
Soul Arrow, run away......Soul Arrow....Run away.....
Considering the amount of content in this game for an Iphone, it is probably priced a bit high. But not by too much.
You mad bro?
Im merely suggesting that with the development of higher tech, and thus much more "anime" being prevelant in the design (due to the tech) that it does indeed alientate some western gamers. This is a fact.
Perhaps we could see a Jrpg this generation with proper character development and a decent story line without emasculated men. (But not the Gears of War guys either).
Why cant there be a few more options comi...
I too was raised on JRPG's on the NES and SNES. Shoot, I played FFVI, Chrono Trigger, and Secret of Mana from 12-14 years old. Yeah, I will never be able to replicate those experiences again...But I do try.
In any event, not only have JRPG's lost their way in terms of story, but also the HEAVY influence of anime in ALL of the JRPG's coming out in the west.
FFVI was not really anime, it was that whimsical hand drawn sketch look to it. Chro...
With so many other great games that aren't FPS coming out this Fall, I will not be purchasing either.
Hey man, its preference. If ya like COD or BF3 rock on.
This and Dark Souls (along with many other titles) will make this a great fall for gaming.
My personal frontrunner for game of the year.
One of the best spring breaks I ever had was beating this game in 1 week around 12 years old.
It has potential, but now that it is releasing in the fall even at 40 bucks, it probably doesn't stand a chance.
For me, it's between Dark Souls and Skyrim.
Dark Souls has the lead as based on the previous installments of both.
I would hope they would expound on some of the ideas explored in Simon's Quest. Game was way before its time.
DA2 is not a terrible game, but it lost the "It" factor that Dragon Age Origins had.
Well, it wont be very RPG(y), but hey, we have Kingdoms of Amalur (sp), Dark Souls, Skyrim, and a few others to take its place.
Im digging it. I mean, yeah, it is no Dark Souls, but this has its own thing going on.
