I like how the entire justification behind getting a new HDTV is to play COD4 better. Nothing more, nothing less.

I also like how there's a lack of suggestion into which TV does better or the final cost of it.

Truely a half-assed blog/article.

Heh, so they hacked the MS controller wireless hardware and also used a hacked iPhone... I wonder if Apple and MS are going to be pissed about that.

I completely don't like this article. All it pretty much goes over is money, money, money. They entirely ignore the end product, ie the games, and say that EA wants to save money, Monopolise the gaming industry to an extent and Take Two should just lie down and roll over at EA's call.

I can't take the writer seriously, or those who are offering up their advise. The article only helps to set the idea that 'should you not be able to compete, buy the competition and not make progres...

@pricklypete ; no it's not necessary. If you can't organize a business model that will for the most part pay for itself without having to go to third parties (ie product placement advertising), then you're running a pretty poor business model.

I don't want to see a precedent for an expansion of advertising or future justification for more. I don't want to see it. The GTA series always had fake ads which where funny and spawned real life counter parts. The Simpsons made fun of EA'...

Damn... Why the hell would want to do this?

I swear if I see a Mountain Dew or Cheetos ad, I'm going to flip.

On the upside, perhaps I can somehow sell ad space on my PS3 case.

I don't think you should call 'no multiplayer' a down. If a game wasn't designed for multiplayer play, then it wasn't. Car reviewers don't take review marks away from cars because they can't fly.

You should not criticize what's not there because it's not suppose to be there.

Yeah good idea and all, but making it would have blizzard shooting themselves in the foot. People are probably too poor to have to pay for another life stealing MMO.

And if they made it free, you bet the server load wouldn't take it, nor could they pay for it indefinitely.

All and all the timing is not right for Blizzard to release another MMO. WoW has to start dying off first.

In all fairness EA needs to return to their days as Electronic Arts, not the EA (eat all) that they've become. Back in the day I would have to say their games where well respected and well developed.

The jalopy they've become is shameful. If or when they fail in this acquisition, the over all opinion of the company by gamers is going to be again further damaged. I don't want mass produced games. It's about balance and EA seems hell bent on just making money, not games or good en...

Oh man, willing to bet that the Canadian troops will probably have to be told to do something about this. No way are they going to give up their nightly cell phone calls home.

If EA is willing to throw Take Two that much money after calling them a sub-par publisher, why don't they up their gaming standards across the board with that money.

This "we can't beat'em, buy'em" attitude is literally killing competition, creativity and ingenuity. Bioshock would have never ever come to light under EA. GTA would have never stood the controversies and "Hot Coffee" scandal under EA. Yeah it recently weathered the Mass Errect thing, but back th...

The over all strategy of quantity over quality has to end from EA. There are some exceptions, Maxis for one, but they have EA by the balls in some aspects.

But really. Take Two's share holders and board of directors are hopefully not too stupid to sell out on the eve of GTA IV.

Yeah, EA the omni-corp of games has been getting to me. They seem to have this overwhelming games as a product and not games as entertainment that really needs to stop. I don't want a bland game, I want to be entertained and engaged by my games.

EA seems to stick to a 'what's going to be popular' instead of 'what's new and entertaining.' In fact, look at what happened to Black. Part of the company was disbanded.

But really the power is in the gamer on this one. If we...

I have to say one of the greatest things that comes out with every GTA game is the fake ads they come up with. They really do put a lot into the promotion of their games through this realseaming but fake ads and websites.

Are people that pre-unsatisfied with a game already? Some one's being a massive debbie downer.

I don't believe it's very nice or strategic of XNA to be cutting royalties. In light of the PhyreEngine being free, it's going to be attractive if not lucrative to being making PSN games. There's also the added bonus of making both PS3 and PSP games which are both freely accessible for usage.

One of the reasons why I prefer the PSN over the Marketplace is that there's no need to have to use a middle man to pay for things. I use my real money in my currency. The PSN also doesn't h...

I think Lost Planet is seen as a silly western shooter. Remember that the Japanese don't take well to shooters, and given the LP was put on the 360 (A western console) there's hesitation to pick it up. When it's released for the PS3 in Europe/North America, it will do much better. Probably 1+ Million copies in first 9 months for both regions.

Bioshock is a shock that it's sold that much so far. Again, it's sales are gimped on part because of a low 360 penetration. However given t...
