Homeworld really does deserve the title of number one RTS. It helped to define what a 3D rts is and how it should play. As and added bonus, Relic really did go all out to create a universe for the game rather than just run with the typical 'here's how things are and stand' as with other games.
I would have to say the only failure of the game is that there hasn't been more games released, but in some ways that could corrupt the original ideas of the game.

Your opinions don't seem as well educated as I hope you are. There's nothing wrong with a story that doesn't focus on what was done prior. Oblivion didn't have a need to explain everything about Morrowind. It did have references to things that happened prior in the form of books. Ergo, if you wanted to know things of the past, all you had to do was read a book on it.

What a strangely vague game.
I'm very grateful in some ways that the overly creepy atmosphere has been toned down. Not that the creepy atmosphere was a bad and terrible thing, but it made the game and at times, overly creepy that it was tough psychologically to play.
Lets see if they can go two for two and make an equally atmospheric game using a different theme.

Over all it seems far removed from being a Nintendo product and more like an Apple designed product. Nintendo would never go this way with their designs as I don't believe the Japanese are into the look of Apple products like Americans and Europeans are.
