I am not blaming third parties for the sales of the systems. That is entirely the fault of the manufacturer. Its up to them to get systems in hands. I'm blaming them for the messes they create. If Black-ops on Vita lived up to what people were expecting do you still think it would have flopped? It would have at least got Vita out the pit.

I seriously think EA want their games to fail on any system they don't like.

Then they have an excuse to boycott. Am I the only one that gets this impression? They know people won't jump at this. This same thing was done with Fifa on Wii U.

It isn't Nintendo's fault. People just blame them because they are the manufacturer. It is a combination of developers and buyers that are to blame. A lot who make noise about wanting multiplats on Nintendo don't buy them when they are given the option. While the few Nintendo only owners will. Most of the people making noise only ever buy the exclusives. It is those who also own a Wii U but don't use it to blame on the buyer's side.

For the developers, the...

There were people on Neogaf saying "its stealing!"

Bayonetta 2 will end one of two ways. Either it flops and Sega will see that cancelling the game was the right decision. Or it succeeds and carries on. Nintendo may see promise in it and want to do future sequels.

If people want to throw the blame anywhere they should throw it at Microsoft and Sony. If they REALLY WANTED this game, they would have sorted it themselves.

They seriously used a screenshot of Killzone or was that just the article?

It doesn't really get me that companies will hypocritically copy each other. They will denounce a feature and then go through with it themselves. All sides are guilty of this. Nintendo copied discs and memory cards. Its not to do with who came up with the idea first but who did it right. Motion sensing has been going around for years. When the technology was there Nintendo reaped the rewards that the others didn't see.

I made this same point. Microsoft is not a good hardware manufacturer. For every plus they have brought to the table, there has been a far worse negative. I have never seen a successful console break down like 360 originally did (note originally did). They made the Xbox One hardware specifically to cater to their own personal agenda. When the public gave them the finger they have done nothing but damage control since.

My point was they don't even need their own hardware b...

This article was very interesting. I never knew the US was preaching "Nintendo is doomed" as far back as SNES. I only thought the hate came in after Sega left.

Bubble. This is exactly what is wrong. Everybody who knows the strength of Nintendo's franchises will know this Christmas will give it a boost. Its how big a boost or how good or bad the others are selling that will give a better indication of what is going on.

"Wii U failed for many reasons."

I'm not even going to look past that sentence. It hasn't failed until the fat lady sings.

Wii U was reported to sell 1 million lifetime units in Japan. Nice straw grasping there.

If Pikmin 3 (one of Nintendo's pawns) can dig Wii U out of the hole then imagine what the king and queen will do. I thought Pikmin would appeal to a niche but seeing it sell systems make me think Nintendo is going to rake cash again at Christmas.

A lot of people have the changes down to Sony but it really wasn't. Pre-orders were terrible. They went up when they backpedaled but the stories going around at the time say people don't just lay down and take what a company tells you to.

This is where the industry is wrong. We have more power than these corporations think we do. Sony not implementing the features just made the choice of what the majority wanted far too easy.

In comparison Xbox One st...

How Wii U is currently doing isn't really the big picture. Given Nintendo's big games have always picked it up I don't know why it would suddenly end differently here.

It will pick up with more games. Like any system.

Its coming overseas is the logical guess here.

Aren't sales the reason Nintendo is having to publish your new game? Sega don't see it worth it? Thats what I thought.

I think as AAA dev costs spiral more out of hand indies will play a major role in the way forward next gen. Nintendo is doing the right thing by courting them.

I honestly have no idea who owns this. Wasn't the original done by what became Rare?

Nintendo may have just been given the rights because it was on SNES.

I wouldn't say Vita doesn't have games. I am just pointing out that Nintendo spaced them out while complaints about Vita currently is that Sony don't have enough announced for it. I do agree that they have saved the better games for much later. I don't think anyone would disagree with that.

"If you are going to release a console make sure it is backed up with software to keep momentum going. Don't put all your eggs in one basket if you have two baskets that need filling"

Nintendo have handled Wii U better than Sony have handled Vita thus far. Pikmin 3 at least was stated that it could have come out long ago but Nintendo cleverly spread the releases out.

Launching with Mario U, then bringing Monster Hunter and Lego City during Easte...
