Part of my articles point is that if MS does fall behind, they will just get more competitive... which will drop the price of the 360, and in turn the PS3. Gamers on both sides win.

I think they WANT you to think Kinect is next gen... no one will buy if they know something better is about to be released around the bend. Apple knows this well.

I agree that casuals care less about graphics. BUT, I think MS is too clever to let the core market slip over to Sony... they are essential to a console's success. The core market wants graphics.

I do believe Microsoft when they say that they want to get 10 years out of the 360 (developers suppo...

thank you.

David Jaffe has far too much logic and common sense for the average teenage pirate/hacker to understand.

a fair review. It lost points for multiplayer (a must for high scoring shooters these days...) which is fine by me because I have had enough fill of online FPS multiplayer, so it is low priority for me.

I look forward to a game with silly humor that is just a good time.

Fox... THIS is how you expand gaming marketing to a wider audience... for FREE.

people call it a "Wii 2" because people like you, know what they are referring to (next gen Nintendo console). This has to do with communication, not with history. The name is obviously a placeholder.

That being said, I think it would be a smart move for Nintendo to use Wii in the name of the next console because they won this gen, so keeping the product name would be of benefit for product recognition... especially if they keep backwards compatibility for games. ...

because Wii is still selling well. Only when it's sales sink will they move on. 2012 makes sense for the WiiTwo and 720.

I like all the parodies. Halo Believe, Full Metal Jacket, Duty Calls.

Great marketing.

"unwittingly revealed some information about the final piece of downloadable content"

hahaha... this was planned.

The "leak" got the game and DLC free advertising. This article is an example.

in regards to #5... I think #7 will trump. If anything, only expect timed exclusives/DLC this gen for the 360. Triple A exclusives for the 360 are numbered... but expect a killer opening exclusive lineup for the 720.

GT5 selling so well despite mediocre reviews makes a lot of sense, because it is a well known brand, and it has no real competition on the PS3 (other recent Driver sims?).

The shooter genre is over-saturated BIG TIME. To stand out you need to have a BIG NAME (Halo, COD) or a phenomenal game.

KZ3 will sell well for similar reasons... not much recent competition for sci-fi shooters on the PS3.

I wonder how much Sony/GT has spent sponsoring real race cars/races over the years. You see the logo all the time, and for many years. Can't be cheap.

@Kakkoii

Crysis 2 is getting more coverage and free advertising on GAMING websites, as you point out. My point is that those are the same people who already knew about Crysis 2 anyway. A few might be convinced to get the game that would have not before, but the numbers will not be huge.

For free publicity to really effect sales it needs reach out to new customers/markets that would not otherwise see it... TV, Newspaper, CNN/BBC/CBC/etc. For example: Kin...

I don't think it was intentional to leak Crysis 2.

I agree that it will generate good publicity, but I also think that it will cause them to loose PC sales, and thus money. The question will be if the publicity causes enough new sales to counter the losses from pirates.

I think Crytek/EA will loose money in the end from the leak... because the free advertising from the leak will be read by the same people that will be most likely to download the pira...

I would just be happy to see it released without "testers" feedback causing it to be changed and turned into COD with Aliens.

Please no multiplayer. CO-OP fine.

Depends on the game.

Bad games FEEL long, GREAT games feel short.

ME2, ME1, Borderlands (and DLC), Fallout 3 (and DLC), AC2 and RDR were all long games that were tons of fun and thus did not feel long. For a long game to feel short it needs to have a cool open world, RPG advancement, and fun game-play. Bioshock was great, but too long for the type of game it was IMHO.

That being said, I like the idea of short games. I am pretty busy, and l...
