"Are there engines that do run time procedural placement like decima? Not that the public knows about. "
yes UE4 supports "run time procedural placement" as of 4 years ago.

I would also recommend seeing this also as it has dynamic features.

@ ShinjukuSon
there isn't a feature that couldn't be replicated on any popular engine these days.
It's the teams that matters more.
edit - Unity engine just put out a nice recreation video of "Hello World CGI" in in-game graphics.

agree. you can pick them both up on steam with spare change and complete them both on spare time.
whichever way you play them. by the time you finish Sunset you'll be thinking saints row. you'll find the only thing setting them apart are the visuals. Saints Row though offers more outfits, three times the amount of body slider options, plus vehicles and customization.
I personally can't wait to mod this game. some 300,000 textures were enhanced for Shenmue 1 and 2. https://www.nexusmods.com/s...
" don't get why the Dreamcast was a fail."
an interesting mystery. the console had plenty of exclusives and new IPs.
my thoughts gathered, too many consoles on the market became a factor.
eventually there would be 4 consoles by the time DC would be 2 years.
DC appeared dated to late adopters.

Epic already sees major returns in charging 5% for games that use their engine.
and all of the batman games use unreal engine.
"They were NEVER the sole selling point GamingBolt you ridiculous fools"
kinda disagree with that statement. at the beginning of every generation hardware is always listed as the selling reason to upgrade. and tech demos are usually the first content gamers see from the hardware. it's been that way for 30 years.
1 word MODs.

and that's why i'll always be a pc gamer.
it gets 2 battle modes. it seems one that plays like FFXV and the other that plays like FFXIII.
if you watch closely to hand input. the AI takes over movement and the player gives commands.

so there you have it. what more could a FFVII fan want.

interesting. I would have liked to see an in-depth analysis on the performance gains switching over engines.
probably DF will cover this. console versions are not too far apart from each other and PC.
PC version of course supports 4k textures and 60fps.
@ Jin_Sakai
it was never meant to be. gears will always be gears.
since 2006.
this game was pretty interesting.
i enjoyed my playthough and ending.
a sequel would be nice to see with your choices porting over.

"Namely Sephiroth. I thought part of why he really clicked as a villain, was that he didn't even come into the fold until the tail end of the first half. And they've already show him to appear in Cloud's "visions" numerous times."
exactly!!! his identity was supposed to be kept for the later parts of the game.
with this now in focus i wonder if the plot reception will have as much impact.
hopefully the new w...

"It usually takes PC's 4 years to catch up with Xbox consoles in terms of power."
2 years. in terms of pricing to power. if that's what you mean.
in terms of raw horse power, there are pc gamers with 2 and 3 GPUs linked up.
TheHateTheyGive -
"no unreal engine game can match the decima engine."
there are incorrect implications here - "a game versus a game engine."
in short the answer is UE4 can display equal content.
if you want a direct comparison you'll need to display equal in-game assets to both engines.
in other words you'll need the same developer to replicate the data then port it.
all developers take inspiration from successful formulas.
inspiration is all about flipping ideas. adding their own twists.
Kojima's work is subjective but has always been for the fans. with puns that carry over in each of his work.
a noble trait where other directors may ditch their fans.
"the tech showcase that sets new standards for Xbox One"
in good timing for the 1X as we move towards the next gen.
a very good benchmark next to Red Dead and Forza Horizon for the 1X.
when it comes to guessing the names for the next xbox no one is correct.
