We'll see how they do on their next project.
I'm guessing that Ray tracing will be the major difference between cross gen games. Ray trace lighting, ray trace reflections, ray trace global illumination, and ray trace ambient occlusion. All of these features still do have an effect on a rtx 2080.
Also increased tesselation and drawing distance. Among the expected advancements.
pc already has tools though. and quite a few of them are free as well.
the only major thing that isn't free though is indeed the mo-cap equipment. which that will still set you back a few grand. the only cheaper solution is the kinect attachment for PC. that being said, i'm still looking for better mo-cap options myself.
when AMD says it's ok. the most sony was able to show was a logo.
the hardware is still being manufactured.
these sort of things are complicated to always gauge. with developers having the freedom to choose how to work with the hardware. some developers choose higher effects while others choose more frame rate.
or some developers will add options for gamers to choose.
I mainly agree with the prediction only because of how late we are into production.
at this point everything should be set in stone by now.
i also do agree that pricing, scale and TDP will continue to compromise predictions. considering they are reoccurring factors in the tech industry. however there is still some wow factor in the assembly process and hits taken that could always be made. which could potentially place some doubt to everyone's predictions.
I do plan on revisiting this game. at 5$ it's worth every penny.
based on my constructive opinion though. -
- there aren't nearly enough good outfits. the default outfit remains the most practical. if you hate brightly colored rainbow outfits the game will reward you as much as possible with them. which they have to be purchased and don't come cheap.
- character faces are limited to presets
- abilities are limited to a couple...
they could have shown the logo on youtube instead of getting people to book flights to vegas thinking that they would see it up close. just for the sake of those people that spent money on the trip, sony should have given them a back stage display model to gloat over. i know i would have. - my thoughts.
the rumor was for confirmation of PS5. and yes PS5 was officially confirmed today.
naturally everyone was expecting to see a physical display. but that of course was our imagination and hype, over hyping the rumor...
i was expecting to see the console. not just a logo.
lots of gamers have stayed up late for this.
Pretty sure gamers are gonna love the remake once it's complete. as for the actual game of the year, a possibility Square might have shot them selves in the foot with that. it may pose a difficulty for newer reviewers that never got into the game. in which case all they have to review is part of a game. considering some gamers don't like cliff hangers, who knows how many the first part will have.
hit and miss on some materials. more screens.

it being said, this news is not so surprising. it was always coming to pc.
latest and greatest hardware typically has it's reoccurring complications.
TDP, scale, pricing, noise, how everything works and fits together under the hood.
at the moment the hardware market is pretty expensive, with Nvidia charging almost $2,000 for their best tech.
in the case of the consoles, both consoles will be using $350 GPUs and CPUs alone. which both MS and Sony have already settled at a loss of 1/3rd the "off the shelf" hardware pr...
my only concern is the majority of time spent and the types of missions.
i'm still going to play DS when i get the chance to. and i do respect the gamble kojima brings to the gaming industry. testing new waters and concepts.

"Consoles are super efficient "
the consoles are nothing without AMD. both Sony and MS are making their boxes to accommodate AMD's configurations. i would just accept it, PC is fueling the gaming industry as a whole. it's been that way for 3 generations now.
"Microsoft's Xbox Series X Just Ended the PC-Console War"
I don't think so. PC is multi-purpose on a wider scale.
these screens appear to be from a compressed video.
it wouldn't surprise me though of a definitive release to be at a later point.
judging by how most artists these days work on uncompressed assets by default.

This was very interesting news.
As this adds more credibility to the original source that also covered the death stranding rumor.
A very peculiar insider source for future reference.
