While this does seem concerning it could be just this... That the first was so long ago released that they are starting fresh so as to flesh out a full story arch (trilogy?) over the entirety of this console cycle?
AWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!
Does this mean mirrors edge 2 (if announced) is multi platform?
Just out of curiosity. They say this is a 10 year franchise. Will it start and finish on x1/ps4 or will it straddle gen (ie halo 3 and god of war 3 did). Thoughts?
So let me see if I understand the 24 hour thing...
One needs to "log-in" to the enternet every 24 hours and when you log-in within that 24 hour offline period, a new 24 hour "off-line" time is permitted. So just make sure you're logged on every 24 hours or less?
Well as someone who loved d1 and 2, I didn't have the chance to place d3 for lack of a pc. So while not ideal, d3 on consoles is an alternative for me.
My question would be is the game going to be identical on consoles or will one console be lead and thus the prefered platform?
If/when beyond two souls gets added to this, then I'll be set for the year.
PLEASE BE KARA...ish!!!
Good article and it brungs up something I've wondering about. Now granted that technology like science will always evolve, there is always something to do. For me personally I have no desire in "extra" stuff. I like the simplicity of my console and controller, plug and play. With that said the article mentions a ceiling. And for me personally with my want is simplicity I do wonder how much higher they can go without changing it so much that I bail out.
Nice article,
This is me to a tee. I am a core gamer, I own both major systems and pick up every major release, so it's definitely more than a "casual" thing for me. Still, as I've grown older, looking towards grad school and dealing with work, I don't play like I used to. In highschool I used to be considered "hardcore" but I don't have the time anymore. Now my games are a "down time" kind of event to recharge my batteries from ...
I do have lbp1 and 2 but given the reviews and it not bring a true media molecule game I didn't get it when it came out.
I don't have a kart game, is this worth it?
It's hard to say really. I've been able end this generation on a really good note. So it's hard to say what game, most likely something new (ip) that will make me want to jump on next-gen.
Maybe mirrors edge 2?
Idk.
I want to know if these will be the last physical consoles or not. Or how long they'll last on the market.
I see what your saying, but people are basing price point on expected specs and not on price based on brand name.
Here's something ive wondered for awhile. People say consoles have to cost substantially more to be more powerful? Yet on the same hand, doesn't advancement in techs also allow for things to be more powerful since tech becomes more common while at the same time cost no more than it did 5 years ago? Example laptops. They used to be x amount for x amount of power, now they cost the same or less for even more power?
While I see his argument, I have a question.
He's basically saying ms won't use br to shaft Sony of sorts? That's like saying "i'm not going to use DVD because I don't want to pay the person who created it". I see the articles put I'm just saying that at some point all companies no matter who you are have to realize the establishment of a format and use it because it's so established, royalty payments or not.
Agree,
A ww2 game that is using current engines and game ideas like open world ect. would be nice. Ww2 is so diverse, large, and unique it'd be nice to see given gaming advancements. The last game we've had was either Michael Bayafied (world at war) or using old ps2/Xbox engines (cod3?) I haven't seen anything since.
So yes, a modern game with modern techniques would be nice.
Amen to this article, I can definitely relate.
The Xbox has been my main console while Playstation I've had for exclusives. After seeing these initial reports I too feel better about Sony and unless something else comes up Sony will be my main platform which like the article author, feels a little funny. But I feel good about it.
