So according to this it's 7am uk time...which would be 2am eastern here in the us?
I'm not saying their ability to/not to look next gen is my reasoning. I'm saying as a game they are my first real reasons for buying a next gen console. One buys a console for the games and those are the first games I've seen to make me jump.
This is true for me. The first games I've seen to make me want next gen are mirrors edge 2 and destiny. And those won't release till 2015ish most likely.
As a student of the holocaust and listening to his video, I don't feel he's going about this the right way. Granted I don't know the right way, but listen to him, this isn't it.
Hearing all this hype and just skyrim-esque in terms of detail and scope I'm intrigued. Now I played Vic-city with a friend way back when in highschool. Aside from that I've never been a fan of gta (loved red dead redemption) cause I just felt it was too thuggish with hookers and drugs and just too Mayham crazy with no real story or substance. But again, this time around I'm definitely intrigued and I don't know why. Any thoughts or suggests on jumping into this?
I'm not a gta fan but mine dumped me in June after 3 years. I've been playing skyrim as a result.
I LOVED diablo 2: Lord of distruction. I sank 100 of hours unit it. However, given the concerns with d3 and the fact it's been almost 10 years I'm not sure if I should jump back in via consoles. Maybe it's best to let my sleeping dog lie.

I've said this before. I just wish this is a proper reboot that starts a story that spans multiple games and starts and ends with this generation. Ala gears of war or the resistance series.

I think the increase would be ok IF AND ONLY IF what you get out of said game increases. If the normal 8-10 hour game was $60 this gen, it needs to be say 15-20 hour average for an $80 game.
No it was, but one had to admit that as the author states there really wasn't much to go on. The city wasn't named, enemy, ect was all kind of generic and while I enjoyed the first (ALOT) it wasn't very fleshed out.
I just hope that rebooting (like the article said, original came out a long time ago) is so that they can create a new story arc that spans multiple games. I want more than one game in the story. More mirrors edge please.
All I know is i'm waiting. With finishing school, wanting to let the dust settle, work out kinks that are inevitable with new products, and still having a lot on my ps3/360 to going to "try" to be patient.
Very good article. I liked your analogy to jumping out of a plane without a shoot. Ms is very capable of fixing things or being a great console in the long run (and I hope it is, I'd like one) it's just the initial reports from Sony and MS, one taking its time and one shoving out of a plane. So let dust the dust settle in a year and see what happens.
I know the specs of the ps4 are more powerful but I don't think that would mean a $100 increase, I think the difference comes in the advancements to kinect that they need to recoup.
Actually if you add the ps camera (the Xbox is integrated) then they are similar in price. It's the integrated upgraded cam that I feel is the reason for the price increase.
How does multiplayer effect the feel of diablo. When four of you log in to play are they just generic characters or do you play with your own customized character that you've leveled in solo play (ala diablo pc) ?

I've always been a ms person, not bias just my main system. Yet with my gaming habits changing and the way Sony handled their stuff at the conference it has me rooting for them. Who knows what'll happen a year after release when the dust settles on all this (I would actually love to have both systems) but as for right now Sony is my new main console.

Second, my first thought at shooting/explosions in space made me laugh. As anyone who knows starwars, or science, these things just don't happen in space...no air....and shooting in space, come on...no gravity.
