I'm glad Bloodborne was at least mentioned in this article; I was a little concerned at first when I glanced it over and didn't see it as one of the Top 10. I'm sure I'm apart of the minority at this point but Shadow of Mordor is one of my favorite games this gen, so I'm happy to see it's still getting the love it deserves!
This is really interesting, and I would love to see something like this implemented into games as opposed to micro transactions that nickel and dime you for stupid things. There's been a ton of tracks on Rock Band that I'd buy if knew I'd get a download code for a digital copy as well! All the awesome outfits you can buy in games as well? I'd be shelling out money hand over fist!
I'm a pretty laid back gamer, but even I've let a game get to me more than I care to admit. I agree though, gaming is hobby that I turn to when I want to unwind and escape from the reality of every day life. I don't want to stress about getting my butt kicked online or when I get pwned by a difficult boss battle, especially when I'm trying to destress after a long day!
I can't play first person shooters (I get motion sickness easily), but judging from the screen shots and what others have said, I really wish I could play this. I'm a huge Mass Effect fan, and I absolutely love the universe that Bioware has concocted over the years, and it looks to me like 343 Industries has the same ability to create wonderful worlds for players to play around in. Just another reason why I wish I could enjoy first person shooters :( Glad to see others are enjoying it...
I agree, unless they are just cosmetic, microtransactions will always be a tough pill for gamers to swallow. I personally don't like the ones that offer gamers an advantage over others who don't spend money, and essentially separates the community.
While I think PlayStation VR will be a hit with its targeted audience, I'm still not sure this will be the juggernaut many are hoping it will be. It definitely has the potential based the demos we've heard of and the trailers we've seen. Hopefully these "200 developers" working on PSVR will be able to add to the launch line up to make it as enticing as possible.
As far as Outlast goes, I was scared silly just watching a live-stream of it, so I'm pre...
Judging by the reaction of these guys, as well as the ones I've read on social media, it sounds like Destiny is slowly discovering what it's supposed to be. I've even read glowing comments by those who gave up on the game shortly after it's initial launch, because they've been so impressed about the changes made with update 2.0 and the overall quality of The Taken King expansion. It'll be interesting to see how things unfold from here, but it sounds like the future is ...
I guess the whole "Is the Battlefront Pass worth $50" scenario comes down to individual preference. If you're an all-out MP enthusiast, and are totally fine with Battlefront focusing solely on MP, then it probably doesn't really matter to you. If you want more maps, modes, weapons, etc, then paying $50 is your best bet. If you're disappointed by the fact that this game doesn't have a single player component, and you're not much of a fan of multiplayer or cooperat...
The price cut is a pretty strong move on PlayStation's part. It's obvious Xbox is gearing up for a very successful holiday season with a great combo of games and bundles. PlayStation may not have the first part support, but they definitely have the right third-party deals in place to go along with the price drop. Everyone claims that Call of Duty is losing steam, and it may be, but it's still going to sell more than most other games this year. And Star Wars, well, Star Wars is goi...
All I know is that I'm absolutely thrilled that the allow you to switch between first and third perspectives on the fly with ease, and honestly, I think it's a much better experience from a gameplay perspective in third-person. The game is absolutely beautiful and it appears DICE did a great job utilizing all the Star Wars resources made available to them. This thing is going to sell a ton.
I read a lot of tweets about the lacking visuals and technical issues that people were experiencing. It sounds like there's quite a few issues that need to be addressed, and that's just with 1/3 of the games total maps. There could be many more unexpected issues that could arise when the game launches in less than 2 months. Considering this will be primarily an online game (since it won't have a proper campaign? talk about wasting a talent like Angela Basset!), I really hope Ubiso...
I hope they don't go on a strike because that could directly impact release dates for 2016 titles that haven't completed all their VO recordings yet. I'd hate to see titles getting delayed over this. It just sounds like this could fuel a nasty rift between non-union developers (who work tirelessly on a game for years) and unionized voice actors (while they may not be involved with a project nearly as long as devs, their ability to make scenes much more impactful can't be under...
I don't typically have the free time needed in order to take advantage of the complex creation tools that games like this and Little Big Planet offer, but I'll always have enough time to play through many of the levels that people have created. That's easily the one thing I love about games like this; the variety of quality levels the community can come up with. If this truly is the last big title on the Wii U (Xenoblades looks rad), I can't think of a more fitting way for the...
50 hours of gameplay? Wow, talk bout getting your moneys worth! I love when developers take the time to create that much content and manage to make most of it pretty engaging.
Other than Xenoblades, is there any real reason to purchase a Wii U going forward? Wouldn't it be best to just save your money for the NX? Don't get me wrong, Super Mario Maker sounds great, but it also sounds like it's the swan song title for the Wii U.
8-bit aesthetic? Stealth gameplay? Ridiculously tough? Sign me up for this one! Only $9.99 too, not a bad deal. Hopefully it does well enough to make its way to consoles at some point.
Looks like The Coalition did a good job updating this for the Xbox One. I still don't know how I feel about the sprinting in this game, the screen is all over the place. There definitely doesn't appear to be any shortage of action in this game though.
For FREE, why not? But even at $7.99, this is a good looking adventure platformer that reviewed very well on PC, and appears to have made the jump to console without any issues.
NOOB! Just kidding! These games are hard as hell, and it reminds me of what gaming use to be about, and that's the challenge. I'm not saying gaming today isn't challenging, there are some very difficult games spread out across all genres, but platformers like Mega Man will aways be on another level in terms of difficulty. I, for one, am super excited to pick this game up.
For me, the the recreational stuff is where I have a lot of fun when I'm not in the mood for completing missions. Gwent is one of the best features of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I've spent an absurd amount of time learning and trying to master that game. Golfing in GTA is actually pretty fun too.
