I don't know which government you are referring to, but in my country we do not let the government control us. They are afraid of the people, not the other way around. They are actually afraid of spying on us, because there would be (legal) consequences for doing so.

Sure, I admit my comment was ignorant, but I'm convinced completely innocent people stay safe. Although, I have read Kafka's "The Trial" and it's almost dystopian images do invade my min...

A very solid list. Seldom do I see good lists on this site, or any other for that matter. But this one had some games (especially Xenosaga and Suikoden) that I'd actually vouch for.

Why? Because of their depth. I'm tired of playing Hollywood-esque games. Or Japanese games that are pure fan service.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I feel like 'Souls series and some other games here and there are the only "real" games anymore.

(semi-spoilers ahead!) This game inspired me to dig into the historical characters before/while playing this. I'm around 15hrs into the game and I can say, it's the best Ryû Ga Gotoku -game to date. It feels more like a historical RPG that is open world. I can buy, upgrade or combine weapons aka Souls' games. I find it cool unlocking various Dôjô's as they unlock/teach new fighting skills.

In the past Yakuza games I was bored to see the same min...

He is mistaken!

I have the Japanese version of the game and I can capture screens and whatever with the share button.

Why is misinformation spread so actively? This is truly alarming!!

On a side note, the game is the closest thing to a Shenmue to date (while not being Shenmue).

He's Conan and I approve all his methods blindly as I am a follower of his Coco cult.

Have you guys seen the Spanx scetch where Andy is bleeding? It's one of the funniest things I've seen in a while :D

Here's some PR for you: I don't generally approve what's going on at SE.

I have played both FFX and FFX-2 HD Remaster games in Japanese and I'm happy to tell let you all know the soundtracks are better than before, or at least on par. The songs fit the mood better and gives the fresh new paint a deeper meaning.

Personally, I like the new Besaid Theme more than the repetitive classic midi song. Also, gotto love that saxophone! (the ambient song after you fight Sin at Djose)

I play this like 5hrs a day after work (on PS3). I can't help myself but to let everyone know in an obsessive-compulsive manner, that this game has wayyy better voice-overs in Japanese. Also, the overall presentation is very clean and the game feels new again.

I now actually understand the cutscenes much better (the laughing scene is still quite awkward, though). Also, FFX is a veeeery Japanese game: there's loads of bowing, Japanese expressions and animations for tha...

I would be surprised if they had started R&D on a new home console. A hybrid, that is handheld first and home console second, should be what they are aiming at next. Handheld market is their core market and in that market also lies Nintendo's excellence and sales.

"Wii Go" or something with 4G LTE / Li-Fi / 5G technology out in 2017-2018 and it plays all your games on the go and at home without any cables and wireless charching.

I might buy ...

@caseh

Surely it can happen!

Think of what Yasumi Matsuno did for SE with Tactics Ogre remake.

Also, we are not talking about Sega, but Sony. All sorts of possibilities open up when Sony sits down and talks about games with the right people.

Mr. Suzuki has also stated, that the license can be bought or obtained from Sega (these contracts are easy to revise, just need Tokyo's White & Case etc. to draw up a legal contra...

Shenmue 1-2 HD + Shemue 3 for PS4, puleaase! Come on, Sony! I'll pay 150euros from my small salary to play those.

Just make sure Yu Suzuki and his team are behind the remakes and sequel. The spirit of Shenmue lies in the minds of the original creator!

I know it's a lot to ask, but hey, we are the core audience that you want to concentrate on so badly. There's nothing more hardcore and revolutionary in video games than Shenmue. It's a fully imm...

Hey I'm almost the same. I'm around JLPT1, but this game probably has some of the hardest kanji and expressions (classic Japanese) like Ryu Ga Gotoku series, so it's going to be a challenge to play this.

You probably know this already: I recommend a really good electronic dictionary for writing Kanji that you cannot read (you can write kanji on dictionaries and they show the on/kun-yomi). This way you can learn while playing!

How about a patch for the horrible FPS and screen-tearing? In other words, please fix the game before releasing new content.

Surely Yoko Taro is one of the best game makers, but his products are always hindered by performance issues and bugs. Even the exceptional music does not save the feeling of "This game is a masterpiece, but it feels rushed and unfinished."

I have to say, Drakengard 3 has the best story in Japanese games in a looong while. I pl...

I don't know...I find it rather normal for devs to open up after a long development process, you know, to let out some steam and tell us about how a long project, involving dozens of people, was brought to completion.

I think there are many appropriate reasons (accumulated stress coming out, the "now it's finally done"-feeling, excitement in releasing latest work, marketing and PR etc.) why artists should speak out around release dates.
