Isn't Rebirth full of side quests that have nothing to do with the main quest or are mostly fillers and just markers on the map and kill x of this and get x gil? I can't do that busy work in games, it kills the fun, and I need to use my time much better in life.

The original had zero filler content, and was extremely well paced and still had open-world elements from the get go, no need to pay twice or thrice for it. I thought the original was superior to the Remake ...

In the last two years I've been burned so many times on PC releases that I learned finally to wait 6-12 months. I let them games cook a bit longer and the community and devs to fix the games, and pick em up from sale. That's also when the hype and exposure online to the games have subsided (everyone's always about the latest new shiny thing) so it feels like a more new experience.

Done with beta testing PC games. Nor am I interested in the "exploration sta...

They do have the porting framework ready this time, though. You are right, they do need to touch more aspects and optimize more, but I'm sure they can get it up and running on PC in no time and start working their way up from there.

I'm in the same camp at 42, extremely busy at work with a career and a family to take care of. The newest, and most delightful member takes so much time that I basically have 1 hour of my own time in the evening, and during weekends maybe 2 hours in the evening. During that precious time, if I keep troubleshooting PC games, spend time on loading screen, or chase some markers on a map or just am not generally doing something awesome and inspiring all the time, I don't game at all. And ...

@andy85 At launch BG3 dropped to under 30fps at the final chapter on 4090. I played the game at launch and had that experience. And that was with a 5800X3D. Everything watercooled and fine-tuned CPU/GPU and memory at 32GB with good timings, and a fast SSD etc.

I have PS3 Phat for PS1, PS2, and PS3 games and repair parts in case the drive or other components fail. PS5 for PS4 catalogue and PS5 games that do not come out for PC (seems like most of them do). I also have Vita that I use for classics from time to time on the go (once per year). So I'm hardly leaving Playstation, I just have the money today to drive the games at 120hz and RT on PC. Also, Sony and Devs do not seem to be interested in updating old games for the Pro consoles, I don'...

Very keen to play this on PC.

A bit aside of the topic, but having such a strong year of PS games on PC this year, I'm very happy I moved from Playstation to PC permanently. I'd like to revisit these games later with even faster hardware and higher refresh rate, the Sony titles are just something else.

I did buy a PS5 to access the PS4 library. Another reason I bought a PS5 was actually the save files on all the games. I downloaded all my PS+ clou...

Exactly. The commenter was not exactly his close friend, and most likely is way more junior.

@Christopher I get where you are coming from, however, you see it through your own subjective lense, and it doesn't make it somehow the "truth" or "for what it is". It's just your opinion, nothing more, nothing less. You can argue for it, but I can find 100 arguments for mine.

And you are factually wrong about "From Software" (Who is FromSoft anyway? A company of hundreds of people? One representative? Does that person represent every ...

You just see the negative in this. This is a net positive for a hardcore RPG.

Tove Jansson is very philosophical and the lessons in Moomin are magnificent for both adults and children. Timesless stuff. I'm a Finn and my daughter is partly a Finn, so this will be absolutely a great culture piece for her as well to learn about my culture :)

This looks fantastic! Would absolutely love to have my daughter play this.

Why on earth such an insignificant wish in life would matter to anyone?
Absolutely beyond me. I would hope and wish people have lives to attend to outside the screens rather than mull over on what brand is getting "love from the community". It's an entertainment related hobby, not a civil rights movement.

Final Fantasy Tactics, but only headed by Yasumi Matsuno and accompanied by Naoki Yoshida's team.

Same day as Elden Ring DLC, but will buy both. Finally some solid JRPGs for 2024!

If this comes to PC, it is a must buy at full price. Did not want to buy the Switch version due to the performance problems.

Helldivers 2 business model is entirely different.

They will sell microtransactions, DLC and what not on the side where eventually most of the revenue will come. Sure, they will release large updates for free initially and add stuff to create the critical mass and with it the critical revenue to fund the development of the new stuff which they will sell.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a complete game from beginning till end and has much higher quality set pieces...

@Tacoboto
It was very good, but I enjoyed MGSV trailer more. There's just something about New Order - Elegia, it was so well crafted together with the imagery. Felt like an art piece on itself.

Exactly! I really didn't enjoy FFVII Remake Intergrade. It felt too confined and too many fetch quests, and disliked the battle system because in the end it was reduced to smashing buttons (no matter how much people say it was strategic!) FFXVI battle system was equally bad, and confined and had very little content.

All these new entries want me to play the old classics, they were simply just better in every way. Most of all, the atmosphere, pacing, storytelling and RP...

I'm 42-years old father and husband and also have a scientific background from early part of my career. I would like to think I know what I'm talking about.

Maybe your common sense was mistaken here as you thought I was a kid?
