PS5 Pro makes me buy into PS5 ecosystem :) Will play with PS4 Pro until then, and use PC for multiplats. Unless there's a From Software Exclusive. That would ruin my plans. Come to think of it, it would have to be a big RPG exclusive, and there are not too many of those nowadays anymore.
I only have broadband / mobile monthly bill myself. I use Prime tactically once per quarter to order a lot of stuff we need for the next three months, and I pay for Netflix max twice a year to binge all the good stuff. Rest of the time I work, work out, read books and play backlog of games I've purchased from sales. I like my cash.
Maybe the author forgot that in Japan, in its thousands of years of history, people haven't discriminated against gay people. In Japan's history men have been dressing up like women for hundreds of years, and that has been deemed as "beautiful" and "normal" in here. I mean, women painted their teeth black, because that was deemed as attractive as well.
It's a non-issue here, most of the people do not judge anyone based on their sexual orienta...
Two things:
First of all, it's superfluous.
Secondly, chiburi is not a simple concept. Start with these:
1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wi... / To understand what it is.
2. http://www.iaidotsj.org/wp-... / To understand some of it meanings.
There are univer...
In PS5's case, the calculations have shown so far that we are talking about 1-3% difference when the power budget is variable. Typically it should be somewhere between 0-1.5% in terms of noticeable performance drops. So yeah, I think it's an intelligent solution.
Yup! I have four.
@Zeldafan64
You are lucky! And what doesn't annoy you, might annoy other people. That's the kind of world we live in, people are different and can be opposites of you even though they have the same hobby.
And don't get me wrong, I liked most of the game, and I'm a big fan of Takahashi's and Soraya Saga's games. I've finished every single Xeno game they made except for the Xenoblade series.
For me the battles ...
I didn't like the constant battle sounds and yells they had, they got so annoying that I wanted to start avoiding battles, and essentially lost interest towards the game. The exploration, story and environments, systems and everything else was really top notch. I wish they had battles like in Xenogears or Xenosaga, or if action based, then something like Dragon's Dogma.
Does anyone know if this was base PS4 or PS4 Pro? Because it looks more like base than Pro to me.
This is actually a must buy, the gameplay and setting looks amazing. I liked the Sekiro vibes, but the Samurai combat was something truly unique, I absolutely loved that part, being a fan of Kurosawa movies. Japanese have a saying "Shiniyaku" for samurai movies, which means how you act once you have been sliced with a sword. They nailed that part with the animations.

It looks like next-gen, for sure!
Neutral thoughts: 1440p 30fps upscaled to 4K for PS5, and maybe native 4K60fps for PS5 Pro? I'd presume 1800p 30fps for XSX, which is a really small difference. Might make sense to upgrade from PS4 Pro to PS5 Pro. Especially with a huge backlog and after tuning Pro to reasonable noise levels!
@ABizzel1
That's an interesting economies of scale and contracts analysis. I wholeheartedly agree regarding the contracts both companies would have with the manufacturers and supply chain vendors, particularly the promise of the numbers of sold units you mentioned. I would also presume they have new contracts in mind which they probably flash at the end of the negotiations (on the roadmap) with the mid-gen refreshes, and Microsoft would probably talk about the S Lockhar...
The problem with MS is that they are lying all the time. If they find out they have said something accidentally half right, just like they think they have the most powerful box out there (which by the way haven't been determined in real-world tests yet), then they keep repeating that message until the end of time, boasting even.
Sony just doesn't do all that crap. Neither does Nintendo. All this Western, mostly old-fashioned American to be fair (and to be fair Ninte...
For me better graphics are the last thing I want. Having used consoles since mid 80s, my priority list is as follows:
1. Stability - no more overheating or other problems - I have no time to replace my box anymore
2. Almost zero load times, seamless delivery and UI, saving that is automatic - no more selecting save files through multiple clicks and menus
3. SILENT and cool box - no more changing thermal paste and a cooler or adding thermal pads
4....
One of the best video game cultural articles I've read in a while. Few small sentences here and there annoyed me, and the lack of the background of the Angel's family history as in where he got the money to move to US in the 80s just like that, but overall a very good read! Highly recommended 9/10.
Instant buy!
Yup, getting two a day. Super annoying...
Where’s your scientific proof and exactly what ”games” are you referring to? Can you please be as specific as you can in your answer.
The cheapest typically sell the most. Especially in a difficult economical situation.
Agreed and also expect it to outperform SX actually. The Tflops difference is only a 15% advantage for SX when the ram is slightly slower, and SSD half the speed. The 5 second load times vs 1 second load times is one thing, but that is not what Cerny was talking about.
He was talking about using it at 9GB/s rate as a secondary pool of memory and using the custom silicon to have a direct access to ram. This would give PS5 the ability to give the GPU to work a lot more effici...
@Stanjara - Yeah, I agree, although 'I think the larger populus is strongly against our way of thinking!
I do understand upgrading from base PS4 to PS5 completely. Still, I don't want to buy the first versions before good thermal and noise level analysis over a longer period of time as consoles are quiet and cool for the first 6-12 months and then heat up. Most likely they won't have more than 1 must play titles at launch. If there's a From Software title, s...
