I don't know, when you play again the first DS1 after DS3 Deluxe, it does feel like it's lacking a bit. Although it is still my favorite, Bloodborne second and Demon's Souls third. I thought all of the games in the series are great in their own way. Especially the DLC in II and III were fantastic. Sekiro was good, but it's not an RPG anymore, it's pure action.
Bought the original for PS2 here in Tokyo used at 300yen. Worth every penny! Wouldn’t want to pay for the same game 30x.
I'm the same! Knee-deep in life and society, and I still enjoy games that somehow innovate, have great art, and particularly a narrative that teaches me a new perspective (=makes me grow up as a person, as a thinker.) I do not have the same feeling of awe as much as I had that 30 years ago, but there are still glimpses of it here and there when I tackle something superb such as The Last of Us, Bloodborne or Original Sin 2. I do get that cool child-like feeling when I delve into old games ...
Agreed! Can't wait for this. Normally I don't like these "loveletter to xyz genre" games, but this one is unique and has it's own voice, themes and feeling. Plus the music, atmosphere, and art are just top notch through and through.
Correct! This further illustrates the lore is vast.
I disagree with you regarding some of the points, not all. I think Twilight Princess was the sort of maxed out of the typical formula, whereas Wind Waker and Skyward Sword tried bravely something new, and essentially evolving to BotW which became one of the only Zelda games I actually was able to finish. It was much more to me what Link to the Past was, but in 3D. Ocarina of Time didn't do that to me, I liked the 2D graphics and gameplay better. That being said, I like all of them, but mo...
Xeno series has probably much deeper lore than all of those combined.
@isarai,
I have played multiple games with RTX /DLSS combo on both RTX 3080 and RTX 3070, and can confirm ghosting is an issue. The lower your rendering resolution is, the worse the ghosting becomes. I tested mostly games like Control, Metro Exodus, and The Medium, but it was there, and what I read online it's a common thing. I am actually more interested in a pure 85% gpu scaling + sharpening rather than 4K + DLSS. There's something strange about the DLSS2.0 image ...
Tactics Ogre and Final Fantasy Tactics, UFO, Age of Empires II, Heroes II and III, Front Mission 3 and 4, Vandal Hearts and Jagged Alliance II.
This looks much better! Finally they are listening to fans. I thought D3 was a big disappointment, although it did have some addicting and interesting mechanics. Played D2 after that and always thought it felt much more atmospheric, and the story was just on another level. D2 is a true classic compared to D3. Even the first one was better.
Gave up as well and bought 18€ GT710 1GB, and sold 3070 twice and 3080 once, and 5700xt once. The 30-series has unbearable amount of coil whine, and could not find a model without one. So I’m waiting the prices to come down and maybe grab an rtx 3060 closer to it’s msrp. I made my money back, from all the purchases and maybe a slight profit per card (like 30-40€ each, but always had to buy another one that was more expensive, until I eventually sold that with the same price I got it.) I sold ...
I'll give it another year and dig in with a RTX 4000-series or RDNA3.0 GPU. 2022 Spring time looks like the perfect time for Cyberpunk 2077. Maybe they have finished it by then.
Good that they are updating this, but honestly, there are a lot of stuff that should have been there from day 1.
Still patiently waiting for PS5 Pro to play through all the must have exclusives and experience an overall better console with all the updates etc. Done with being an early adopter and paying full price for games. Too many good games out there, rather clear the backlog and slowly move on to next gen when the prices are reasonable, ecosystem is more established, a...
It will be absolutely fine. The card's performance will hit a wall before the VRAM limitations will apply. It cannot fill the VRAM in the most demanding games like Cyberpunk and Watch Dogs 2, and still doesn't run 4K60. In 2-3 years time, RTX 3080 won't be able to play most demanding games at ultra, so you have to lower the settings which in turn lowers the Vram requirements to hit 60 fps. DLSS also lowers the requirement. And even if there is one single game that requires more th...
Scored the same as a well performing 3080 in Time Spy, and the price will be 20-30% higher. Absolutely not worth it. 3070 is still the value king. Undervolt it and OC it and you got 180w and 2000mhz clocks performing slightly better than rtx 2080ti. Plus it's easier to find on stock, and the latest drivers lifted the performande 5-7%.
Started this with TUF 3080, sold it due to coil whine, and bought gaming x trio 3070 to finish it, including both DLCs. Less coil whine, but still very audible, so I put a serious undervolt in place at 775v. Ran it at 4K DLSS all ultra and rendering at 1080p. Ran mostly above 60, sometimes dropped to 45 at worst, typical drops to low/mid 50s, but nothing that hindered the experience really. Decent game, too simple upgrade system, and very forgettable audio experience except for the cutscenes ...
Planning to buy this on PC in a few weeks. Is this worth the full price?
I played the original and thought it's around 7/10 or 8/10 in my books, finished all the DLCs, but there were things I didn't like about it (story was kind of strange, very hack n slashy "level" or "dungeon" after another, instead of Ninja Gaiden or Dark Souls adventure atmosphere.)
Love all Souls games, and have played completed them average 5-8 times e...
10% more performance with 30% more price. Happy with my 3080 TUF and the great price to performance ratio!
I believe Steam is looking into haptic feedback support for PS5 controller. They've been pretty good with accessibility lately, so PC gamers with a Dualsense can enjoy the games even more than on PS5. That is non-exlusives of course. Exclusives will probably use Dualsense the best anyway, to be honest!
Hmm based on this 6700xt OC'd to 2650mhz can run this with a ryzen 5600x at average 60fps on PS5 settings with RT on.
