@Bizarro Almost all of them going forward will be on PC, and I still have an Xbox One S for the existing catalogue and other media.

I'm not saying it as a slight against the Xbox at all. I think it is a really good thing that all the games are coming out on PC, and I support it all the way. I would much rather play games on cutting edge hardware that my tech-enthusiast side appreciates, rather than fork out money arbitrarily on underwhelming hardware in order to play ex...

The only console I may potentially buy next year is a PS4 Pro, as it is the best way to play Playstation games. My PCs cover all things Xbox, and I have no interest at all in the Switch.

But not too still.

I never said people haven't been dismissive or negative. Of course some people have said things prior to launch, and continue to say things now.

I asked what has been proven wrong by these sales figures. I'm a massive fan of VR and firmly believe it has a bright future, I just think it's way too early to shout "I told you so!" based on these numbers. It has a long long way to go.

Wrong about what?

I'm no PSVR or VR hater, but it's got a long way to go to prove anything yet in commercial terms.

No they don't, they're an independant studio. They are dealing with EA because they chose to, for a large sum of money.

Isn't Titanfall 3 due out soon?

This game deserves a bit of attention. It's pretty good, with a fully featured VR mode raising it up towards being exceptional.

I'm fairly new to it all myself so I can't comment on too many games really. What kinda sensor configuration do you have? Front-facing, 360, room-scale?

Accounting is not the grandest showcase of what VR can do, and you will be done with it in a single session, but it is pretty funny and also free so definitely worth it. People rave about Budget Cuts demo too as another free one worth trying.

Raw Data is supposedly one of the best wave shooters. ...

Superdata eh? So actual revenue probably about £3.50.

Great year. But only because of the dawn of VR, I can't really think of anything else that stood out.

Having a Rift doesn't mean limiting yourself to the Oculus store :)

Get Steam ASAP, it supports the Rift just fine. There is some great stuff on there that works perfectly (including native touch support in many cases).

Ripcoil makes me sick within 30 seconds so I'll leave you to that!

Ha that's a pretty old comment to reply to.

If you like the table tennis I'd highly recommend picking up Paddle Up on Steam. It isn't native Touch but has options to adjust the paddle position to match your grip, and it's just... Well it's like having a table tennis table.

Add Volkama to Oculus and/or Volkama82 on Steam if you want to co-op some Touch games. With a bucket on your head.

Sigh.

This game is painful to run at 60fps on any hardware, at any res, because it simply wasn't the target and the engine isn't optimised for it.

With a 30fps target you can dial it up with reasonably modest hardware. But 30fps is as rough as Septic's arse.

@Kokyu fair enough. Destiny's hooks never really worked on me and I stopped before the cash shop was introduced. I can't say I'm remotely surprised that Activision would expand on that.

3320d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Indeed. Forza doesn't feature a "Mcleren g1" or "Farrari 456", it features real licensed models. That was the point I didn't feel I needed to spell out...

Tis a good read. I'm not sure a developer understanding and leveraging human psychology around rewards is necessarily a bad thing though. It could just as well be called good design.

When they tie those same hooks in with a system of micro-transactions that's the time to riot. Destiny is relatively light-touch on that front.
