Real footage doesn't make a difference, and the resolution of the headsets isn't really well suited to it.
I love VR but do get sick from it quite easily. 1 for 1 positionally tracked movement causes no problem at all, I've never had even a hint of a problem in roomscale games. Roomscale + Teleportation mechanics are comfortable, but when immersion and presence are so critical being able to teleport by clicking a button on a controller does take something away.
...
Tbh it was a bit weird that it didn't do this in the first place. Still, it will now so.... No harm no foul.
Yup good shout on games with dynamic resolution.
My dashboard is fine, but my launch PS4 did try to take it's own life at about 3am the other day. Fans going full speed, burning hot to touch, and then it started making crackling noises apparently (so says the wife that it woke up).
It works just fine now, but I don't use rest mode anymore just in case :|
Would speculate it prevents the downclocking when running non-Pro games. It could give a bit of a framerate boost to games with variable frame rates (or games that struggle to maintain the target).
It could also break compatibility in some rare cases, hence it is optional.
Hopefully it makes it to release. Every little counts.
The highlight is that Carmack apparently Googled "How to wipe a hard drive" before attempting to destroy the evidence by wiping drives.
@Darth it most definitely is about Carmack's ideas. The issue is that Carmack had those ideas while he worked at ID, so they were the intellectual property of Zenimax. He also took the ID Tech 5 engine and Rage source code with him on a USB drive. He probably figured that since he wrote both of those, they belonged to him. He was wrong.
Oculus must be pretty glad they have Facebook behind them now. Otherwise this might have been enough to sink them.
Sony are absolutely bossing where it matters. Every time I close my eyes I wake up, and another quality PS4 game drops. Great start to 2017.
Others might say that EA is responsible for Titanfall 2 existing.
I'd probably buy one of these if only they were actually available to buy outside of the US. I'd definitely buy it if they could convincingly implement movement through emulation of an analogue stick, giving it compatibility with a load of FPS games.
You are getting disagrees because the dev is clearly not saying "it can do everything, blame the devs!" as you claim.
Honestly, it is rare to meet someone with a head that even Gamingbolt headlines fly over.
I'm curious, name the ones you count as true next gen games please?
@oof46 Good AI and challenging AI are completely different things. He's talking about more sophisticated, convincing, lifelike behaviours.
@Aenea Even if that many publishers had tempting services and I was for some reason forced to subscribe to all of them at once for a full year for some diabolical reason you've conjured up, that would still be a lot less than I spend on games now, so.... yes?
I can't actually think of 10 publishers that I'd want to subscribe to though. EA, Ubisoft, Sony, and Microsoft would be a good start, they probably have strong enough catalogues to justify the price.
I sincerely hope other publishers follow suit. I'd get to play so many games for so little money, it'd be great!
You're some kind of genius. I was so sure the number would go down.
:-/
You see racism, I just see a console warrior that cited the wrong board game. Maybe there is a racist undertone. Maybe he threw "Chinese" in there to heighten the insult. Or maybe he just isn't particularly smart.
Imo accusing someone of being a racist is pretty serious, and you shouldn't level that at someone based on a possible interpretation of something said or a guess at the intent of a comment.
I've never played Shogi. I prefe...
Chinese Chequers/Checkers is the name of a game. Originates from Germany apparently, and the board doesn't look much like a regular chequers board at all.
So he's not racist, just childish.
Gears initially only supported crossplay in co-op modes. I think very recently they enabled crossplay in the casual vs modes (because the PC audience is fairly non-existant), but it is still disabled for competitive/ranked matches.
