With Microsoft it's been a decade of "don't worry guys! The exclusives are coming".
As a Series S owner, I have yet to buy a single game.....
Meanwhile I have bought over 15 PS5 games. Most of them PS exclusive, some of them PS5 only....all of them great.
It feels like Microsoft will keep throwing money at the problem with very limited results. $70B for Activision is just insane when Sony paid $300M for Insomniac.
Most of the titles barely exist, won't release for years and come from studios with VERY unreliable track records.
Calling Hellblade 2 a Ragnarok killer is laughable at best. The original was nice....a solid 8...but not a GOTY contender.
You are also comparing games that nobody has played with proven hits.
By then, Sony will likely have released Spiderman 2, Wolverine, Final Fantasy XVI, Silent Hill 2, Bule Point's new game....w...
As a Series S owner, GamePass is like walking through blockbuster back in the day.
Tons of things that make me think "I guess I can try this?" but few things I would actually pay $50+ for.
I mean, Halo Infinite was my first Halo ever....and probably my last. Microsoft needs decent exclusives and giving away "free" games doesn't fix the issue.
As a Series S user, I am still to see one. I guess you could say Halo Infinite, but honestly it did not feel like a AAA game at all compared to games like The Last of Us and honestly even Mario Odyssey (the facial animations in Halo were PS3 era),
Forza is great....but also a yearly racer. Where are the GOTY contenders? I guess that's why they are buying Bethesda and hoping for the best....
When exactly did they say it was profitable? They announced 3 billion in REVENUE. That is before all their expenses (that are likely much higher than that between servers, marketing, deals with developers, etc.)
They have never been particularly transparent about the finances of their gaming division.
It seems like they have spent literal decades chasing gaming success. They had Halo (that they bought), then Gears of War (that they didn't develop).....then they got Rare to mixed results.
With the money they have spent they should have a huge roster of franchises like Sony and Nintendo. I guess they will just keep throwing money at the problem.
I mostly hated that The Medium felt underdeveloped. Even the "dual world" mechanic ended up being gimmicky. And the combat system was atrocious. Hopefully SH2 will be better.
She already admitted that she was actually offered up to $15,000. That's quite a big leap from her original $4,000 claim. Time to move on. That lady is unhinged.
That girl really nuked her career didn't she?
At this point, few people believe her $4,000 claim (and they literally got receipts).
Typical Microsoft.
Remember when they forced-fed Kinects to boost the user base? 🙄
As a Series S owner (my first Xbox console ever), it does feel underpowered compared to my PS5.
Maybe make more taxing games streaming only?
Microsoft playing victim here.....
With those $70B they could develop many exclusive games for their systems....Nintendo and Sony do just that with much tighter budgets.
You are in third place because you have failed go deliver exclusives.
Their new approach seems to be go through money at the problem. Buy everyone and try to boost GamePass numbers.
Microsoft is obviously bleeding money to fund all this so obviously regulators are very concerned.
$3B in evenue from GamePass last year (not profit, revenue). And just Activision Blizzard will cost them $70B?
GamePass is not a sustainable business model in its current form.
Resident Evils was more conventionally scary. Basically Zombies and jump scares. Silent Hill had some truly disturbing scenes and mature content.
Hopefully they are just licensing the IP to a more capable developer. I've lost ALL fatih in Konami.
But if they let a studio like Kojima Productions or BluePoint be in charge, I'm in.
Sooo....what exactly does Microsoft have for this Holiday season?
So ready for this 🔥 God Of War is truly one of gaming's best franchises.
Also looking forward to Bayonetta 3.
Is Microsoft bothering to release something this holiday season? 🤔
How incompetent can one studio be? Remember when Halo was one of the most competitive franchises?
Halo Infinite has been mediocre at best....it's sad that this was supposed to be a next-gen flagship title.
Truly sad what happened to them 😭 they were such an innovative studio (similar vibes to Insomniac).
Completely destroyed by Microsoft's corporate structure.
It is interesting how the characters can have tails, but making them black would be confusing and distracting.
Aren't there like huge chickens walking around?!
