The thing is, there will ALWAYS be a compromise no matter the console/pc/specs/date, jump 10,000 years into the future and people will be complaining that a machine can only simulate our solar system in photorealism with all 5 senses in VR with everyone on the planet logged in and if they wanted to leave it they'd have to stream in extra solar content and why can't [insert game company] do it, it doesn't feel next gen!

Lower res = increased fps

Thing is, that 2:1 gap is AFTER the rush of fans bought their consoles, we're now working on people who held off, weren't quite sure, couldn't afford it etc. I don't think many big fans were holding off just until UC4 or H5.

Agreed, I wouldn't have gotten this game ever if it wasn't on ps+, hadn't played the original, concept didn't appeal to me whatsoever (soccer in cars? No thanks). However I love it and am most liekly going to buy the paid dlc for it.

Risky to release so soon and to only possibly last out this generation. The Wii U is not even 3 years old and are the people who trusted Nintendo and bought it going to do the same and buy this when many may have already bought a PS4/XBox One. Unless this outperforms the other two (which it may, after all tech will still have advanced since they were designed/released) I think they're going to be in an odd spot.

I can't imagine they'll support both consoles in...

Game is too good, hit the 500's on duo/trio ranked, my only problem now is that I gain like 5 for a win, but lose 40 for a loss (I had 2 leavers in a row after letting in one goal in the first minute and I dropped from 540 to 465... then I only got 10 per win). I get that it's based on skill differences but when you can accidentally score from the kickoff or by bouncing it randomly off a ceiling and a wall, sometimes shit happens.

Not sure of the solution for that ...

I have to agree with the XP comment for quests, my quests are overflowing (I haven't even gone to skellige yet I'm still frantically trying to finish up all the storylines I have in the air, half of them are green or grey. Some quests gave me 500xp for completing them, that's like 1/3 of a level, add on the xp from doing partial checkpoints and actually killing things, and having a modifier relic etc. and you level up pretty damn fast.

I think in part this is one...

Isn't this how kickstarter works though? You kick start the project giving it enough money to get off the ground, it then either completes with that money or uses it to raise extra funding. Star citizen works that exact way right? They raised like $80mill and still go funding through private investment.

3887d ago 4 agree3 disagreeView comment

Wait...didn't star citizen do something like this? They're up to what, 70 million dollars? But they're also getting funding from other places as well right? No one seems to care there, people heralded it as kickstarter working as best it ever has.

I always thought kickstarter was to actually START the development, not to fully fund it. By raising their minimum amount, they have shown interest and kickstarted the project which will them be partially funded an...

Thing is, the vita really was its own competitor, it wasn't in the same 'class' or market as the 3DS and MS didn't have an equivalent. They were basically selling against themselves, this always leads to complacency, why try when you have no one to really beat.

In this case morpheus will be going up against holo lense (and whatever implementation occulus has on Xbox) occulus on the PC, the HTC vive with the 15 sqft movement area etc. If they pull a vita they...

Well no, you don't normally pay full price, you pay a subsidized price and then you pay the rest of it amortized across the rest of your bill. I bought a Note 4 for X down (whatever I wanted due to credit rating) and what I chose not to pay was spread out across my bills (ended up being like $26 a month) until it was paid it off, did that from the last tax return and now it's mine.

You're not getting a smartphone for $200, you're...

I assume because they both contain a strong female character in a non-city (+1000 year ruins and island ruins in the last TR) based setting where you have stealth and action elements, a bow as a main weapon, crafting from elements left behind by enemies/animals/the terrain, not be all "Let me kill every one of you and bathe in your blood" crazy, slightly 'supernatural' aspects (the AI/robot theme vs...idk sun goddess?) and finally they're both ...

I think I read that they were bringing on board someone who was involved in writing the narrative for the Witcher 3?

For people like me who only played KH 1 + 2 due to time or the fact that we didn't own the consoles to play the spinoffs or even know they existed.

This is a pretty succinct description of all the games in the order they appear in, just scroll down to the story for each one. It isn't as good as playing them obviously and ...

People asking what first on PS4 means, it probably means that it will be coming out on PC as well, remember the earlier FF games also came out on PC (I played VIII on it).

Is it just me that thinks that $299 would be reasonable? Did anyone seriously think that a high R&D, marketing, tech device would come out with good build quality and be sub $200? What, are we throwing it together with left over radioshack parts or something?

How much does a head mounted display normally set you back? Even if it were to play my games similar to how MS showed off the occulus (which was wishy washy) where you could play the game 'projected' on th...

Didn't we used to replace that with "Oh let me get damaged and then constantly swap between characters to trigger my limit break"? Cheesers gonna cheese. It may be that in the actual game mechanics like this end up fixed or not usable, it is a demo after all and this 'boss' looks VERY slow, with only two attacks. Adding in a 'Rear and pivot' move would mostly nullify this cheese, or even a 'Turn the other way sometimes' action.

I came, I played, I left, I came back for HoW as I had bought the season pass, played again, left after a couple of days. I'm not sure who else is judging this as a big success but it reviewed to mediocrity and has had the same criticisms leveled at it. I'm sorry but you can't bill your game as they did and include 3 'quests' as your DLC that take about 40-45 minutes to complete, it's basically a map pack masquerading as a DLC with the focus on pvp and a horde mode. ...

Whatever that ancient greek indie game was that was released on psplus a month or so ago, apocthereon something. Aren't the saves for that 300mb? Like the devs said that one save was 10mb, 3 saves per file and 10 save slots, all of that is allocated initially, so when you upload it, BOOM 1/3 of your 1gb gone from an indie game.

@extermin8or I don't see how you could say that we're reaching a physical limit, simply by increasing the physical presence, size, and number of fibre optics you can increase bandwidth.

Now, if infrastructure stays as it is (and I'm not saying that those lovely oligarchies have our best interest in heart with their profits there) then I can see us maxing out current bandwidth. But I don't think it's accurate to portray it as a physical limit.
