If they throw in a VR Mode, instant 11/10 from him (even if he played the first game within 2 years)
"if you can't acknowledge good games on other platforms, that's a fanboy mentality"
As you're calling one of the most well-reviewed and one of Nintendo's quickest selling titles in its history a 7. And suggesting there's ONLY one way it's a 9.
And from the person in the article quoted as complaining: "It’s literally the only thing I’d change right now."
For a positive spin, this is a AAA GaaS title of a long-running franchise from an esteemed developer that's launching *not* broken in fundamental ways.
This sounds like such a puff piece it's hard to believe this is a genuine opinion. Replace Project Q with Logitech G Cloud and PS with Xbox - same applies.
"I'll take any chance I can to take a night away from my PC to actually play some of the great games Sony has been churning out in recent years." says the author, who neglects to mention that PS Remote Play has existed competently for a full decade (avoiding the partner-watching-tv issue), and also choo...
93% positive reviews on Steam so far. The top reviews don't mention performance issues either.
However, the game is only launching on PC first - there still are plans according to them to hit console, even Xbox One. It is good though that they clearly prioritized PC and whatever happens to the console versions is secondary to this PC build.
How is that a bad thing, Sony giving players more functionality on their VR headset in order to gain market share against Meta in this niche market?
Functionality which is free with a headset from 2019 that used to cost just $299 and, like PSVR, has its own ecosystem that competes with other VR platforms?
Right on, I hope KBM can come to Diablo 4 on console too.
I'm liking XDefiant the more I hear about it. If the netcode and economy are solid, it'd be a nice F2P arena shooter alternative to Halo Infinite
Then maybe Valve could release Half Life Alyx on PSVR2, and maybe Sony could support PC/SteamVR with PSVR2 in turn. Valve could also release an affordable headset that doesn't need tracking cameras. Where's the competitive spirit to combat Meta?
As it is, it's Meta Quest's 10m+ VR owners versus PSVR2's 600k and the never-announced figures for the Valve Index. VR is where it's at today not because of powerful systems but because Meta released a VR hea...
I'm less interested in State of Decay 3 than what Undead Labs is doing internally as a studio for XGS.
They reportedly had high turnover related to toxicity that was generally unaddressed by Microsoft at their main studio working on SoD3, and they recently established a dedicated UE5 animation studio on the opposite edge of the country in Florida.
In light of the newest revelations about Redfall especially - Microsoft isn't managing their own stud...
Please include the Duke Nukem content
PC games would need to implement DirectStorage 1.1 at minimum (or develop a custom solution) to leverage the GPU instead of the CPU to load/decompress assets. DS1.0 has some boost to it but it's the 1.1 SDK that gets PC games closer to PS5/Xbox Series-like loading.
It'll be interesting to see how Ratchet and Clank in particular performs on PC - Spider-Man was especially CPU intensive traversing around the city, and Dead Space Remake has traversal stutter going aroun...
Zelda BOTW 1.5
Something Activision/Microsoft
Something Square/Sony
Hmmm... Can't think of a quick one for Street Fighter.
There is only one dedicated device: the PS5 itself. Anything else is remote play and the interfaces are all identical because... It's the system's interface, since it's remote play. If you want identical controls, get a $10 controller clip. Lol
Naughty Dog did confirm they're working on a single player game, in the same tweet as them saying the multiplayer game they've spent the last three years on isn't good enough yet.
Then use the phone you already own - download the PS Remote Play app and buy a controller clip.
Or buy the PlayStation branded Backbone if you really insist on giving Sony money for this free feature.
"Beyond chocobos, summons, or moogles, Final Fantasy has always been about innovation. Even if certain new ideas or mechanics do not gain universal acclaim, they are ideas that cannot be found in any other game. I haven’t felt that yet with FFXVI, but I hope I will."
This preview is so conflicting. The author's jaw literally "dropped open in awe" at the end of the prologue but the closing opinion paragraph is the only one to cast any doubt over the g...
If there's a spinoff with Atreus I would not mind that one bit.
It was almost 6, but they chose to not cancel Redfall.
