@DarXyde
There can be so much more than just 60fps though. Boosted load times, improved visual clarity higher than the 1440p it renders at, some of the better shading that was seen in pre-release demos, the tech learned during and since Part 1, and a single native platform with consistent tech powering both Parts.
Legacy of Thieves had a $10 upgrade path if you owned either Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy, so it wasn't the worst they could've done. Hop...
If Sony still enables Square to release games on Nintendo and PC on titles with appropriate fan bases, what's the harm?
They've already made their biggest franchise effectively PS Exclusive.
"Or even Tencent" lol where have you been? They're up there like Embracer
"It's bad for the industry!"
Activision, their business practices, their treatment of their employees, their treatment of their fanbase, and their own consolidation around COD/GaaS is more than bad for the industry.
I would hope by "Same Packaging" you don't mean the scrapes and scuffs and mistreatment of the Firefly Edition by FedEx...
But I do hope it's true too, keep 60fps with any new graphical flourishes introduced in P1 and full DualSense support.
That being said, of course I'd like anything else from Naughty Dog new before another re-release.
Fox is right. They said as much along with how long development takes, making it hard to keep a story going with half a decade between releases
@lodos - You're incorrect in your first sentence. Ubisoft didn't raise their prices until late 2022. Their first $70 title was supposed to be Skulls and Bones that November but now we're midway through 2023, with Mirage going to release at $50. Fake News bro
Sony charged $70 for PS3 remakes Day One on PS5. It's impossible for EA to have gone before Sony, the platform maker with day one titles lol.
I have not purchased a COD in like 7-8 years. I just want Activision IP to be brought back - games like Hexen. The THPS3-4 remakes, which were shelved so that studio could be a Blizzard support studio. I want Toys for Bob to make something again that's not-GaaS crap.
But COD? I couldn't care less about that franchise and won't ever waste my SSD space on any version of it. Sony's reliance on it has led them to abandon FPS games, which is the biggest shame bec...
The FTC's own arguments proved that this isn't a monopoly situation. Jim Ryan's own emails prove he doesn't think it is either either.
Druckmann has been with ND since 2004 and has directed/co-directed The Last of Us Parts 1 and 2, the Left Behind DLC, and Uncharted 4, and co-wrote and designed Uncharted 1 and 2. He started as a programmer and worked his way to the top by leading some of PlayStation's best titles.
Yeah there's no hope at all with his history full of shovelware that even Microsoft wouldn't want to buy it.
Not sure why you'd get downvotes for speaking the truth here. It's not an RPG and that's 100% fine with me. You customize your loadout and that's pretty much where that ends.
In every other way, this feels like a Final Fantasy. The deep story, the music and soundtrack, art style, tone, the stakes at play. It's like how Yakuza changed up its gameplay formula for 7 - the combat is different, but it still feels true and respectful to the franchise
Framerate Mode is inconsistent in moving around the world even with a VRR display, 60 is held in combat though. That's been known since the demo - the Quality Mode sticks pretty well to its 30fps target.
If Apple wants to be a major player in gaming, they could do it in an instant. Release an Apple TV with an M2 Pro chip, that includes an Apple-designed controller, and have a solid lineup of titles running natively.
But Apple won't do that and gamers wouldn't respond to it if they did. The App Store rules would prohibit mods and Apple would never allow Steam downloads on tvOS. It's nice seeing Apple's efforts here, but their gaming pushes come off as half-ef...
1. Jill's jewelry jingle when she moves, how did that make it through?
2. No Elemental weaknesses is bizarre
3. No party control aside from Torgal. I'd have Jill take off her clinky amulets
I would be fine with that - sooner than I'd have thought. As long as the combat feels fresh and the world isn't an icon fest.
And then you can buy more different skins in your new different-skinned game's store
Ghost was fantastic especially after Iki Island and the PS5 upgrade. 100%'d that, Horizon Forbidden West (not ZD), GoW (not yet Ragnarok), Spider-Man, and R&C: Rift Apart.
Each one absolutely worth it.
I'll be guilty rebuying the full trilogy again.
Still one of my best gaming memories was getting the OG trilogy package before MGS4, and finishing them all right before that
... so it was worth spending money on before, just not worth playing?
